ok I run with guys who either have extensions(I personally don't like them-they're a cheap solution)
I've seen extensions welded into the arm(which if stupid & hilarious at the same time)
I also run with guys who have stretched stock swingarms
then the last is fabricated adjustable swingarms(for me that's the only way to go)

If you can afford a Trac or a Mac arm, that's the best you can do
if not get an stretched stock arm(ur gonna have to send ur swingarm to them, Canadian Mike does awesome work=I have 1 of his parts & about to get another), also Spencercycle does excellent work. Just my opinion, but those are the only 2-I would trust to go with. I've seen others crack-not worth it.
skip the extensions (Btw the pros of this=price, cons=POS safety hazard)

Bolt on extensions are just fine! it all depends on how much power your making, unless your looking for the bling factor, take that seven or eight hundred dollars or more you would spend on a arm and put it in the motor, hell there are guys out their running eights on bolt on extensions. my 2 cents
Only those who will risk going to far can possibly find out how far one can go

will be able to offer up an opinion on the Canadian Mike Arms come spring  :thumb:

Up till now I've had MacIntosh and LOVE IT!!!!!!!!! except I mine now is too short for my next mod so I need something longer and can't afford to shell out the money for a new MacArm.. need 12" over or more..

dont' think I'd personally chance the bolt on's - sure alot have no problem but I'd rather not be the one in teh few that do..

I have a under-braced 600 arm. so I'll tell you run the best arm you can afford (Mikes are great)
having said that if your ruining a stock Busa looking for 4" over bolt on is fine. check it regularly and have fun
BC
P.S. as far as I have seen difference between the $350 bolt on and the 150 bolton was best explained to me by my grand dad
he said " I went out west on a vac I saw an old Indian with a road side stand selling peace pipes he had 2 piles one pile said $1.00 each the other said $5.00 each I asked the old indian what the difference they both look the same? he picked up one in each hand and said some people want to spend $1.00 some people want to spend $5.00"

bolt on's look cheap,  no one wants to look cheap with an expensive motorcycle.

almost as bad as the guys with $20 helmets.

I run a Trac Arm & Triple Tree and I would never run extensions...

if your only out for looks and are a poser... run what you can afford.

Yeah but thats the bad part, their are alot more posers than their are racers,i dont know how many times i run into  squids with a high dollar arm on his bike slammed to the ground all chromed out with brand new shinko and with short exhaust and no muffler so people will think he has a turbo or something,i look at him and ask, whats it run? and everytime i get the same thing,i dont know  i just like the way it looks man

you can spot the posers
if they can afford $$$ arms, there usually stretched like a rubber band or have 240-300 tire
if they do have a Shinko, to hell with askin em how fast, just race his ass
I've seen VERY FEW clean chromed out race bikes, E-Racer is prolly 1 of few that come to mind
most racers keep a low-key & unless you know what ur lookin at=are clueless

Jerry's bike is a good example of that
my bike although not finished(does it ever end tho?) another good example
guys I pull up next to-no idea
if the bike is modded so much w/o the bling & u have to literally point out the mods to others & explain
chances are 90% that's not a poser bike

IMHO extensions are not safe
& I've seen turbos with them pushing 500whp
although I've seen BSTs break apart on drag bikes
opposite ends of the spectrum tho
do whatever ur comfortable with & can afford
that's all that matters :thumb:
