Year round racing
« on: November 08, 2007, 09:48:06 PM »
What dragstrips are open all year? I'm in NY and next week is the last week the tracks are open. I'd like to take a trip somewhere in January but not exactly sure where.

Orlando Speed World (central Florida)
Bradenton Motorsports Park (mid-western Florida)
Moroso Motorsports Park (south Florida)

All three pretty much open year round except for Xmas/New Years, etc...  :thumb:

Ok So Jersey isn't so far as a trip!!!

Im going to go to Florida with the bike/s again this year, probably in Jan and want to go to the track for sure when I'm down there, didnt end up making it last time but this time want to check out some hotspots and the track no matter what!!

Will be in Springhill and was told Brandenton wasn't too far..

You guys are lucky with all the nice weather racing year round ect..I would probably have 50k miles and been threw even more motors if I lived there!!

Come on down South. No Problem Raceway Park in Belle Rose, LA closes maybe 2 weeks for XMAS then there is Hub City in Hattiesburg, MS (Fat Tuesday all bikes 2-2-08).

hub city is the place to be for fat tuesday. red river raceway will race as long as its safe. so they usually close for about a month total. piedmont in n.c. will stay open as well.
and to saint peter i will tell another solider reporting sir ive served my time in hell..

Texas and Louisiana tracks.  new winter series out this year.  Hurricane Alley series.    Wayne from Naarden speedlinks in florida is putting them on.  http://www.haraces.com

gonna incorporate them at first of year as TNT for Fat Tuesday races and first Prostar races.  we all get itchy around then to start up and get some passes before first big race events.

N.C. isn't all that far. What's the weather typically like in January/Febuary?

That sounds great, I gotta decide if I want to commit to that trip or not. This would probably be the ideal state.

I'm going to check see how many hours the drive is from NY to Texas. I'm figuring it's quite a trip.

Check out San Antonio Raceway December schedule. Race in the monthly Street Riders Shootout on Friday night and on Saturday morning race in the Hurricane Alley series. Two shootouts in less than 24hours.

I would put a race on in January if i could get a good bike count.  By the way this is Breakaway Dragway outside Panama City.  This is David the track manager and event co-ordinator  :thumb: :thumb:
