Yoyodyne Fairing Stay/Ti rr axle
« on: November 29, 2007, 06:22:47 PM »
Does anyone have one? Opinions?

I believe it's aluminum, whereas ours stock are iron, right?

Will it work for a straight swap on a street bike, mirrors/lights and all?

Was there a notable weight difference?

My bike is very light for still having a stock tank and plastics. I want to continue saving weight without going there.

Lastly, anyone know what the difference in weight is for the stock axle and Ti axle for the rear?

It is?! I could have swore it was cast iron or something.

(sigh)

I'll try a magnet.

Oh, and don't bother with the Ti rr axle right now. The cost of titanium in the market has made them really very expensive. Even Yoyodyne is not making anymore until the cost comes down.

Ti axles .40 oz in weight savings  :(  $350

The rotor ti bolts will cost a bunch less and save more weight or just buy a set of wave rotors about 1lb per rotor

Been several years since I bought them from http://www.streetfightersinc.com/

Would need too compare but here are a few sources or check your local yellow pages under fastners if you have the size may find on a special order and save a few dollars
