Funny?
How so?
I rode it too slowly and the secondaries got "Stuck" and were slow to open.
I include a Dyno Chart.

Ever hear of HAPPY dyno?

FUNNAY....

Looks like 168 not 171.

PS - you don;t get 6rwhp if you didn't at least add  PC3 - then it isn't stock... :thumb:

You also won;t see that when you are riding in 90 degree heat in the summer either since it was done in a 65 degree room...

Weeeel, it appears my scanner is not as good my bike nor is the operator of said scanner.
It seems to have cut off the last run.
Happy Dyno? No, Not yet.
But it had only 1 mile when I got it from the dealer and now has 425 miles. No PCIII or anything else. Still gots the stock potatos and Cat under the swinger and reminds me it's still there by roasting my thighs whenever I ride it.
I'll try to fix the scanning and pop up another, more legible sheet, hopefully.
And yes, 90 degrees outside will kill a bunch power. But doesn't matter as I still don't open the throttle past halfway. :?

Whatever.  We have seen many happy dyno's and your numbers don't add up.

Also how did the ambient temp drop 5 degrees in 10 minutes?

It just doesn't add up NOR seem normal (or even close)...

While I can honestly say there was no dyno tweaking at the time, I can't explain the rest. Maybe it was a very happy dyno?

Gnd,

Dyno is about avg..air density/quality was very good. The first pull it actually broke up a little...the owner had ridden it very conservatively during breakin...

All I did was clean out the carbon...and heat cycle it a bit to breakin. Then every successive pull it made more power as the rings set in....

Pump gas stock bike good air.....the owner works in our machine shop on cylinder heads..I did as a favor on a Sat...

Hows ur bike runnin??

Pretty amazing.  Not here to argue with you Dave since you are an expert.  170's 100% stock is just amazing considering the 14's and Busa's are barely cracking that in their new forms.

As far as my bike - it will be on the track in about 2 weeks and hopefully will go to Maxton late this year... :thumb:

One thing to remember is that a 1000's torque is low. It makes the HP by revving high and maintaining that low torque. If a busa could rev higher and maintain a decent torque it would make higher HP numbers too.

BQ - true to a point.  The Gen 2 Busa in stock form makes peak RWHP at 9650rpm and does not hit the limiter till (not positive) 11,200 so even with 12.5 c/r and more aggressive cams it is not producing much more HP that the G1K with 340cc more.  Best bang for the buck looks like the G1K even after all the updates...

Gnd,

I agree its impressive....I was getting  low low 160's with 05/06 1Ks stock.. So almost 10rwhp...but the air was very good.

FWIW just dynod 01 1K pipe U4 2 intakes ...made 158rwhp sae.

BTW I am not an expert on anything...I just learn from my experiences.....

08 Busa w pipe PCUSB and U4 made 201rwhp sae....all else stock.

Dave O, What did a stock 08 busa or zx14 run on your dyno?

GSXR1000's absolutely are the best bang for the buck and without all the excess weight. With the current performance of the GSXR1000, I'd never consider another Hayabusa purchase. Busa's are just additional weight to accelerate and slow. I'll keep my 99 Hayabusa and 01 GSXR1000, as they both run fantastic and I made a lot of performance improvements on my Hayabusa, so it's far better than stock, but I am gravitating toward a 2008 GSXR1000 purchase. :thumb:

Q,

The 08's are bad azz....200rwhp with just a pipe and MR9 is amazing.....Their HP vs CC ratio NOW finally rivals the 1K's...We just did a 3mm bore/head/cams on an 08 and it made 235rwhp SAE on pump....and ~130ft/lbs of torque!!!! Thats impressive!!!!

Besides I find the Busa much more comfortable than the 1K's...and I am a BIG fan of the 05 and newer 1K's.....Having built/tuned/and won championships with them 2 out of 3 years in a row...Lee ONLY managed 2nd place this year....LOL

Dave,

why do you think the 08 is making so much more power these days...I mean a +3 in the bore is 1441 and 235sae is about where the 1507's were a few years ago and that's not on PUMP?

Suzuki built a better bullet. Improved electronics and fuel delivery with the new Busa. Better head also. :thumb:

I rode the '08 Busa yesterday, and I have to disagree.  I just sold my '06 liter bike, and had planned to buy an '08 liter bike.  There is more to a bike than peak horsepower.  The Busa's torque is very impressive, and makes the bike a blast to ride.  It's also more comfortable than a liter bike .  I'm buying a new Busa and I won't be going back to the liter bikes.  On the street, torque is king.  BTW, I'm taking 35 pounds off my Busa with a full Yoshi exhaust system.

Tyre slip.  If you can get hold of the runfiles and email them to me i will repost the graph showing why the power is moving around.  This often happens, look at runs posted and you will get runfile001 or 003 as base reading.  There is no heat in dyno or tyre/bike.  Then it gets mapped and heyho, a nice big 7bhp gain.  Its all down to temperatures and slip.  If you map a pc3 and show a 7bhp gain then immediately zero the map and run again at say run 40 after an hour of mapping you will see what i mean.  Like 7bhp gain now becomes 1bhp gain.
