8,000 miles & you're on the first tire ?

I've been through half a dozen.

You're easy on drive tires.

Dunlop 208 Sportmax : 200-50-17. I like the 200 because its just what I like. Fits stretched or stock swingarm no rubbing.

If you're getting 8000 miles out of them, just put some cheapies on there.   :thumb:

If your getting that mileage stick with what you got. I use Metzler Rennsport 190/50/17 and I have done about 500 miles and got about 300 left on my rear, but they are as sticky as gaffa tape & my bike only get's used for fun...

You can use any size from 180-200, when the Busa first come out it had a 200 section rear tyre, some people like the handleing of a 180 or go higher in profile like a 190/55 but I like what I got.

Brother stay away from dunflop's , shitcos's , bubastone's all of that b/s - if you are an aggressive rider an looking for tire's just for one season grab a set of Michelin Pilot Power 2CT in size's 190/55Zr17 for rear tire size, if you are trying to go more for milage than performance grab a set of Pilot Road 2CT in 190/55Zr17 - i assure you after using these tire's you well never ride on anything else !!!

well in your case like i said be for depending on how aggressive you are riding , depends on the tire you want , the pilot power is gonna give you about 2500 mile's out of the rear  of really hard aggressive riding but well give you the ultimate level of traction , i have used the 2CT on my race bike on the track be for , and while riding in the rain the traction is still ridiculous i can still wheelie my busa in the rain on that tire , so go figure - the pilot road well give you about double that , if you are not that aggressive of a rider you could easily get 8,000 mile's  out of the pilot road - the fact that you ride 2up  i would actually recommend a stickier tire , an the Michelin pilot line is know for their extreme dry and WET grip!!!

If your just more of a ploder/tourer or everyday rider then you wont need a realy sticky set, in the UK alot of people use Avon AV45/46 and are happy, I have had these these and they are ok just not sticky enough for me and did not like the feal of them (but that is just me). If you thrash your bike within an inch of it's life then the 2CT are nice tires but are way overpriced, for half that price I have a set of Metzler Rennsport and love them, they get great reviews by almost everyone and they are very sticky in the dry, a local tuner/racer recumended them to me before and I was glad I took his advice. I dont do wet riding anymore my bike is for fun and sunny days only.

Holy crap, I guess I'm a candy-ass with my bike!  I have 11,000 miles on the OEM tires and I'm just now looking to replace them.

Lucky you, I could not get that out of a chrome dresser! I seem to wear the sides out first. I don't know how much you ride but tires get hard with age
and the pucker factor goes through the roof when the front slips, when it does all I think is high side, high side, high side.

I have Metzeler M3's now and I love them.  Last tire  I had was the Michelin Pilot Powers and they were a good tire but the M3's are a much better tire IMHO.

the powers were a good tire but the m3's just seem to handle better i think.  the powers turn in was a little too quick for me (tall front tire)  traction was outstanding on the powers as well as the m3's but I just like the overall package of the m3 better.

if you like to ride your busa , like a touring bike then yea , the pilot's arnt gona be good for you - if you like to flick it in an out of turns an throw it around like it's a lil 600 ,then the pilot's are the only way to go!!!

After all the reading I've done since starting this thread it looks like the tire to have is the Michelin Pilot road 2.

Independent test show that the overall performance (meaning to me good grip and high mileage)of the tire out does all others. Probably because it is comprised of two different tread compounds.
The center is of a long lasting compound for high mileage and the side being of a softer compound for good cornering.
There are tires that grip better and there are tires that wear longer, however there are no tires that do both.
Except the Pilot Power 2ct in which both compounds are softer.
