Has anyone tried an R6 throttle tube? I have heard it is a faster ratio

....Gap is not that big at most its 1/8"-1/4'' and if that bothers you you could always replace with your stock grip

Yup thats what my mechanic did for me and he also helped me adjust further to the back. Its great fast response. Now still getting use to the fast response.

I dont understand how you could get a gap that big . Do you mean milimeters?

Its just a small gap,its not obvious from far that is

Yup true. The throttle turning ratio is much shorter.Good for drag race. Not for city ride and riding at slow speed cause you cant judge and control. Its too much.

Just installed mine and as Robert Kelly mentioned, it didn't seem like a significant change, but you can feel it.  Full open throttle with the old one is painful on my wrist, whereas the R1 tube was only uncomfortable.  In a way I'm glad it wasn't a huge change otherwise it would be downright dangerous.  It was a trickier install than I expected, so here's a few tips: 1) Remove the brake control, it'll make the throttle change much easier; 2) tape that plastic washer to the grip when installing; 3) My throttle cables didn't have much slack (even with adjusters fully in) so I did resort to pliers to mount the return cable.

Ok so is everyone buying the R1? Or has someone got both (R1 & R6) & compared the two?

Will this work with chrome girps or will I have to put my stock rubber grips on?

From what I've been reading, the R1 throttle tube (it comes with a grip too) is great for street bikes and (road/mtn/canyon) race bikes.

The R6 tube is very, very aggressive. That's a great mod for drag-only bikes. You do NOT want the R6 throttle tube on a street bike as you'll more than likely end up possibly crashing from to much throttle input when you don't need it.

Since my bike is ridden mosly in the mountains and canyones, with track days every couple of months or so, the R1 throttle tube was perfect.
Take off like a 13, flick it like a 6

Im not a rocket scientist but im trying to figure out how this works. Doesnt the cable have to be pulled the same distance no matter what throttle tube its on? How does the R1 tube make it not have to turn your wrist so far??  Sorry if i sound stupid, just trying to figure this one out because I would love to not to have to turn my wrist so far at WOT.
Thanks
Jimmy B..

The part of the throttle tube where the cable sits on is bigger in diameter.  Thus when turning, more cable is pulled with a shorter turn of the wrist.

It's like replacing your 40T rear sprocket with a 43T. The chain is the same length but the wheel turns faster.
