I did the quick throttle mod on sunday and went for a ride afterwards and what a difference bike seemed definitely quicker the rear tire was breaking loose all the time. It was around 7c in Edmonton roads are still dirty lots of sand and crap and my tires don't seem to want to warm up but it was a good 12 bucks well spent.

i ordered both sets also.
the r1 throttle gave me the sensation of a slightly lower geared bike which made my bike a little more sensitive on the throttle.
(sounds strange, i know)
i never tried the r6 version due to the fact the r1 version made a big difference for me (no dragracing, just fast general riding).
i gave the r6 tube to my friend who dragraces (only) his busa.
he is very very happy with it. it helped his 60ft times (according to him).

So with this mod your throttle cable has less travel correct and your able to go full throttle alot faster correct.  And does it improve your 60ft?  Info please

It won't really improve your 60 ft, you still have to let the clutch out right. it will just make it easier on your hand position.

Yes you are correct the less travel allows full throttle faster, this is what may help your 60, if the bike is drag race only use the R6 tube, if its a street bike use the R1 the R6 is a little to fast to use on a street bike
The older you get do you notice you start chickening out way before the bike does

Ok, so i did the '04 R1 mod over the weekend, p/n 4YR-26240-02-00.  Since i had aftermarket grips on i bought the matching left side R1 grip which fit great!  So the entire install took less than 20 mins.  For the money with was a great mod, and when not in gear it seemed to rev quicker.  On the street i didnt notice much of a difference until i wacked the throttle to wide open, and def. noticed i didnt have to twist as far!  So for that reason alone it is great!   :thumb:  I didnt find any difficulty riding like a normally do, no throttle ocntrol issues.  I did notice the slight increase in gap between the end of the grip and the bar end, but only maybe an 1/8" not a big deal at all.  I am curious to see what difference if any to my 60' times at the track which i only get to a few times a year, for i am mainly a street rider.

what i ordered from Ron Ayers:
4YR-26240-02-00  GRIP ASSY  $9.16
4YR-26241-02-00  GRIP  $3.74

thanks for everyones input on this mod.

Me to, I am guessing to would be a bit much. I really like the r1 version. I think it will make a decent difference on the track and isn't to aggressive on the street

When you put the R6 throttle on measure the difference in the throw. Do not make a judgement on "how it feels". I think you'll be surprised.

The R1 throttle is good for the street.  I wouldnt try the r6 version on the street.  It's way too aggressive.
