I like mine the best.   8)  Nah, I have TTS.  The robinsons that I had never got installed.  I sold them to Turboking.  They seem to be working for him.  Duh.  The TTS are just a tad taller in 6th.
Yeah, it made 500 hp at 32 psi.

Man, the robinsons I had looked better than that.  They were practically flawless, as far as appearance goes.  Those are probably fine, but I'm definately not an expert.

This is what I have HEARD, and I stress HEARD, about the gears:

TTS are harder than Robinson.  They are treated? to have a harder surface than the Robinson. Thus they ALLEGEDLY are less prone to cancer.  I have ALLEGEDLY heard of 5th gear failures with them.

The Robinson are chrome moly, with a Rockwell hardness of between 52-54.  This is not hard enough to keep them from getting pitting.  However, ALLEGEDLY there have never been any KNOWN failures of them.  When I say failure, I mean a catastrophic blowup while under steam.  Mine were trashed after one season.  Severe pitting.  And once it starts, it doesn't stop.  Then again, I don't know anyone who is using 500+ hp on the top end with these gears, either.

In an attempt to have them survive this season, I had them micro polished, Microblued, and cryogenically treated by Mark at R & D.

I hate to hear that Walt.  I hope your's survive after the work you had done.  I do know that Robinson told me that the gears were still at the heat treater when I enquired the last time before I bought the set a couple of years ago.  I never got to test them, so I'll never know.  They did "look" excellent in terms of fit and finish though.  JMTC.

Oh that's right.  You bought that set from me.  My mind is failing me.    8)

Are you sure those are TTS?  If they were they should have a "chrome" finish and look different from your stock gears.  Take a look at mine:

See little star shaped machine marks on the side?  I know the Robinsons had that.  I've never seen the TTS, but that might be a good way to tell.  Just another 2 cents.   8)     Likewise, as Jason said.
