As a dealer, or a business owner, be careful that you don't mod a bike in any way to as change emissions. This includes, bolting on different exhaust, intake mod, or remapping.
This is state by state. In Minnesota, you can recieve a $20K fine for any of the above.
I have heard of this happening to dealers.
One story I have heard is that a dealer wanting to spite another dealer sent a guy into his competition and had them install a different exhaust system. Now any exhaust change is altering emissions believe it or not. He also had them jet the bike. Then the competing dealer turned him into the EPA and they were fined $20K.
Its bullshit, but its the fricken law. You should know these things if your doing this, as it is $ 20k per violation. The only way I have heard to get away with it, is to hand the license plate to the owner of the bike, and to make sure to have the owner sign that it is for "off-road use only" and then if the owner put the plate back on its his problem.
Check on this as its getting more and more dangerous to do any profession mods that could be considered "altering emissions"
If your in business to custom tune etc... You had better get up to speed before you loose your ass and go to jail.
