Rear Turn Signals-Question about Wires
« on: February 22, 2008, 07:27:14 AM »
I plan on replacing the rear turn signals with aftermarket ones.  My question is, do I have to cut the electrical wires with a wire cutter, or are there electrical connectors that I just unplug?

For removal there are two plugs in your tail, one for each side.
I believe you'll need to pull the tail off to get to them.
If I remember correctly they are all bunched together on the left side,
one black, one gray, both two wire.
The rear turn signals come off very easy by unscrewing & the plugs pull through the hole.

Installation of the new ones may require some cutting of wires! ;)

Good luck! Post a pic when you're done.
Deb

PS: I have an '06 so presumably this would be accurate for most 1st gen.

You can also cut the connection of off the taillight.  that way, your new taillights will be plug in as well.
