Kosman Specialties Welded Rims

I have been looking into a wide tire kit but cant afford all the accessories most of you like to put on your bikes. I was wondering if anyone had a picture of a stock wheel they had sent to Kosman for widening and a diameter change. The website says that there will be a visibile weld around the oustside of the rim.

I will probably be chroming this wheel if I get it done. I am only wanting to go to a 240 rear.

I know superstreetbike mag had one done about a year ago for a project bike.

Anyone know who else might do this?

Pics are very much appreciated.

One other thing I left out. Will a brocks gen III pipe fit with a 240 swingarm?

Does anyone with a wide tire kit and no air ride, ever carry a passenger?

I have seen a stock busa wheel they did. I don't remember if it was a 330 or 300 kit it was used with. I wouldn't even consider chroming one.  Powder coat will hide the mod much better. The quality is great but not chome material. IMO anyhow

You realy need to call Sandy...I'm almost possitive that they can machine the weld from the outside of the rim so it doesn't show, they weld the wheels from both sides, and you can chrome it when you are done.  I can also tell you from experience, that depending on who's kit you buy it may hit the exhaust canister, that is why most big tire riders run a sidewinder or boz exhuast, ext... I had a yosh pipe on my bike and it wouldn't fit right with the big tire kit, not enough clearance to miss the swingarm, I would have had to bend a new exit pipe for the exhaust and build a special spacer.  You'll find out these things the hard way, like I did, nothing is ever bolt on in the custom world, even when advertised as bolt on.

It is not just the weld, but the way the wheel it cut and pieced together.  Don't get me wrong, Sandy does a fantastic job in building these. However it is obvious that it is a wheel that has been sectioned and added to if you take a look at it. A casual glace may miss it in powder coated form, but chrome tends to magnify these characteristics.

Yes, there are lots of fitment issues with pipes and rearsets on these bikes

What is Kosman's usual turn around time on the wheels? They have had one I sent for a month.  Sato dragrace rearsets and a high mount TiForce pipe require some creative work to make them compatible.

The pipe isn't a problem as long as you use a sidewinder, Boz Bros pipe, or something with a canister moved away from the swingarm...I happen to be selling my like new Boz Bros moria system, because I'm upgrading to a stage one turbo kit, if you are serious about doing a big tire kit, feel free to call me for the facts not oppinions  :bah:...504-250-9222.
