Gen 2 Hayabusa set up
« on: April 25, 2008, 05:13:40 PM »
Okay guys I hate to beat a dead horse but,I want a second opinion.
Would my 08`handle backroads better if I raised the rear 1" and lowered the front 3/4-1".
Then set sag.
I have heard gen1 owners swear this set-up is the best over all
 I weigh 190lbs.( 5`9")
I also have heard gen1 and gen2 set ups are the same from the factory.

......please be patient this is my first Hayabusa and I really like the backroads......

Okay, I'll add this and then I'll shut up...

Lowering the front WILL make the bike turn in and drop into the corner quicker, and faster. It will also take away a little stability at high speeds, but not that much. This will also take away a tad bit of ground clearance. And if there is one thing that you're going to learn soon enough, is that Busa's don't have much ground clearance (I've scraped my fairings enough long time ago).

Raising the rear will help similarly. But, it will not take away ground clearance. If anything, it will add just a little bit.

So, if you are NOT going knee down in the canyons and track days, then go ahead and lower the triple just a tad on the forks. If you are, I would raise the rear.

Take off like a 13, flick it like a 6

Okay I feel more at ease now, thanks for the info.
I raised the rear 1" today and it feels great, and once I set the sag (or have someone else)I will be that much closer to having it all dailed in.........
         Thanks again.............Mospead........... :)
