This could have been a cool video
« on: April 09, 2008, 11:12:28 AM »

I managed to get my bullet cam working (sorta) on my second run at the March 2008 Texas mile.  There were
several things that didn't go right, but what I have here is still kinda cool.

1. No audio was captured
2. The camera blew off of it's mounting bracket and was hanging by it's cord at about the halfway mark
3.  I burned the motor at some point.  The first smoke is probably me laying a darkie.  Later, the blue smoke towards the left (camera tilted)
is probably when the engine let go.  214 mph was actually pretty good for a toasted engine.

I tweaked the vid last night, and I'm sorta proud of how it turned out regardless of the problems.

Nope, not yet.  I'm going to start this weekend, but not rush too much (what's new?).  I have to clear out enough space in the garage to work easily.  Hopefully, I'll get the motor out of the bike and get a peek under the head.  I take lots of pictures of everything I do so I'll have a damage report later.  I'm certain that it is much much much less severe than alot of things I've seen posted here.  No rods hanging out the side of the cases, etc.

Very cool.  I'm anxous to see it.  When I got home yesterday, my neighbor had a small roll of carpet remnants out for the trash collector- I snatched them up.  If you need a custom seat, I can hook you up.   :P

Whew! Didn't read the post before I watched the video. I thought when the camera fell off that it was going to be the video of your infamous pass through the lights with out the bike.  Just kidding!!!!!  Cool vid, and I hope things don't look too bad when you get it unbuttoned.

I think you told me.  Ya got a busa ay?  It's about time you wised up.  I hope it works out that you can make it in October.  I'll be there whether I have a bike together or not.
You missed a good one this time out.  The only thing that could have made it better would have been me running faster than last october.  Seems like every time I run a
number that surprises me and makes me happy, then the next time I run a little slower.  I really never got a chance this time.  My fault, and it's part of racing.  I've been lucky to
get this far without toasting a motor, so I count myself lucky (that and not getting killed at the track before).

You'll be fast young man.  I have no doubt that you'll top your 230.   :thumb:

 8)  Long gone are the days when duct tape was referred to as "200 mph tape".  That stuff is for sissys.   :P
