How heavy are you? That makes a big difference.

Do not lower the front end, that's a whole different world of set that takes a specialist to get right. When you do that, you have to adjust everything else.

Even though the springs are harder than last years model, they're not that much that makes a big difference. The first thing you're going to do is set up sag;

http://www.triumphnet.com/st/acc/racetech/setup.htm <---You'll need your self and 2 other guys to do this. Not hard, just tedious. Make a party out of it.

But more than likely, the preload on the fork (adjusters on top of triple......the flat head screwdriver adjusters on top/bottom of fork are compression and rebound....) will need to be cranked all the way flush to the triple tree. Set rebound/compression by 'feeling' the bounce of the fork (zone out, look into the distance, and get a feel for it carefully). The idea is that you want it to compress and rebound at the same rate. If one is faster, adjust until they are equal.

That's for now.

The best thing you can do is have a performance shop do it. Or, if there is a race track (road course) nearby, go during a track day. Track day organizers usually have a suspension guy there that will do it for $30 or so. EVEN BETTER, go to the track and learn how to ride the bike!! Once you do a track day, there is no going back, you will be addicted.

Even on our fat Busa's. I throw that bike down in the corners every weekend, it's all the rider.

Thanks for the info.By the way I weigh 190lbs. (5`9in)
What about raising the rear up an inch,I have heard this also helps the 08` busa handle better?

Raising the rear definately helps, gives more ground clearance.

Uh, not really related, but which color 2008 did you get?
I am getting the orange one.
One of the guys has the new black/grey one.
I have not seen the blue one on the road yet.

Anyone know what weight rider the factory sets the bike up for new? and are the setting re/bound dampening in the middle range? I'm 220lbs  and have left my k8 at the original settings, seems to handle excellent. maybe it could be better? I don't think the average person is 220lbs in Japan. I think its time to experiment, but would like to know where it is to start out. Thanks!
