08 Hayabusa forks
« on: April 27, 2008, 02:36:53 AM »
Anyone tried or study if the 08 Hayabusa forks, with the triple clamps as well as the radial mount calipers, can be fitted nicely or with little mods, into the 00 model?

you will need an 08 wheel or space out the rotors 5mm andspace the calipers back 5mm for the 320mm rotors. The bottom yoke will be too big and will need a copper crush ring with a gen1 lower triple or fit a gen2 lower triple clamp. They are basically an07 gixxer fork though they may be a different length.I read somewhere the 08 gixxer fork is thicker on the bottom triple clamp so it may indeed be the same size on the lower triple.

some how i think the k8 busa fork is the same as the 05 and below gixxer fork.
it is nt the same as the 07 or 08 gixxer fork.

as from what i understand the later fork have high and lower speed compression. but the new k8 busa doesnt have.

do correct me if i am wrong. thanks

Spacing out the calipers is easy. As to the lower york being too big, where can i can get a solid copper crush ring? Cos I don't think I would want to get another lower clamp.
