Zuma Big bore/Stroker Build
« on: May 06, 2008, 10:03:42 PM »
Here is a copy/paste from the Moped forum of my Zuma build..thought you guys might get a laugh out of it!!

In the process of doing a "Stroke-It Imports" Big bore, stroker build on my Zuma. Thought I would put a thread together to post the progress.

Here is the parts list. The motor is 103cc.

54mm Race Cylinder
45mm Full Circle Race Crank
100cc Technigas Next R pipe
30mm FlatSlide carb
Titanium reed cage With carbon reeds
Reed Spacer
High performance ignition & coil pack
Polini Variator
Michelin Bopper Tires

Ok lastest update. I have everything I need now,but a factory airbox, which is "in the mail"

Here is the victim...

Wow,103 miles on it in...bout time to totally EFF it up.... :bang:

Intake size comparision stock/aftermarket.... :awesome:

Here is a stock JOG carb(basically the same),next to the new 30mm flatside...so much for buying a moped for fuel economy!!!

Couple pics of it all mounted up

Worked nearly 3 hours trying to get the tuning even in the ball park. Things was getting REALLY bad, even at one point the engine started rattling/spark knocking!!! It wouldn't even pull half throttle!! I thought I junked the motor.

I was totally bummed out. Here I dropped all kinds of $$,and time,on top of trashing my 2008,100 mile SCOOT!!!!!

So this afternoon,I talk to Dave at Stroke-It. Got talking about the Next R pipe. After looking at it,it has a restricter in the pipe that reduced the pipe down to 1/2 inch!!! Welp, that has to go!!! Cut it out, bolted it back on.Test ride time..............HOLY

This thing is INSANE!!!!! I thought my 70cc jog was ignorant acting....ssshhoooo..... We have painted floors in our shop,I was running about 15mph,and would pin the gas and leave 15 foot darkies!!!

Now I just need to do some throttle chops, and final tweaking on the carb, and finally tranny tweaks. Then get the plastics back on.

I'll get some video & post up the rest of the pics soon. I can't say enough about Dave at Stroke-It Imports. He has been fabulous to work with, and fair prices to boot.(Not tryin to spam up the forums promoting shops,I have no connection to them, just a customer.  )

Got it all back together, made a few WOT passes. Had my buddy clock me on his Hayabusa. It ran a little bit over 50mph. It felt it had a shutter on the top end, possibly still a little bit rich. At this point I am done messing with this pipe. My jetting is almost 20 sizes smaller on the main jet comprared the the jeting Dave told me to use with his custom matched pipe. That right there tells me this pipe is still restricting the motor.

One good thing about the Next R,the moped is incredibly quiet, which I like. (I got video of it running,I'll get posted up soon)

Time to order the correct pipe and get this thing screaming.

Nudie pix!!! :D

As it is now, with the Boppers & grey rims

The saga continues.....%(@#$)*&@^#$%^@#%$

Get the custom made pipe....rejet to the recommended setting..go to take off.....boooggggggggggggggggggg

No..NO...NOOOOOOOO~~~~~~

Still running SUPER rich. Drop 10 main jet sizes, and pull the airbox....bike halfway runs. What gives??? Since I bought the motor assembled from Ebay, figured it was time to find out EXACTLY what I had. 54mm jug...check. 45mm full circle crank...check. Called Strok it...........

Come to find out I got a old Ruima, inefficient jug/head/cylinder. Thats explains EVERYTHING. The ports are small!!! SO,order the new setup with a race porting job, should be here by Friday.

Everything said & done i am expecting it to run about 70-75mph with my 190lbs carcass on it. Time for a steel braided brake line & some HH pads!!!

Stay tuned.........

That's awesome. I hope you get it going...it'll be a blast!! Mine's  70cc, rejetted with the stock pipe, very tame by comparison, but it'll do about 48 mph with my 220lb butt on it...
