Bust out those knee dragging (or close) pictures! Contrary to popular belief, Hayabusa's are not just for straight lines! Track days, Canyons, Mountains, something that turns left or right....  :P

Pahrump, NV, Spring Mountain Raceway

Awesome pictures!!

Fyi, Pahrump is my favorite track. But if you ever want to ride there again, plan on doing it this fall. Rumor is, bikes won't be back for the '09 season. Only cages.

Matt, never knew you did the road course thing.  You've got to help me out sometime and teach me - I'm looking to get started in that here soon.  :thumb:

No prob. I enjoy the road racing more than drag racing. It's just a lot cheaper to drag race.

The expense is not what bothers me, but more so the fact that the better you get, the more expensive it gets.  Then again, I suppose the same could be said about drag racing.

I used to be all about drag racing until I went to the AMA Superbike races at Barbers.  That ruined me.  Been itching to get on a track since.

I thought all tracks made you take off your mirrors and tape up your lights, where are you running in street trim?

Do you guys know of any tracks in New York? I'm in western NY and would consider traveling a little ways but certainly not to california. I can't seem to find any tracks that have like rookie or amatuer nights.

You're about to get one.

Also, check out Barber and VIR. Would be a drive, but both absolutely top notch tracks.

$125,000 to join? No thanks. Did I read that correctly? So you can't just plan a day to go ride there, you actually have to be an elite member of society and shell out $125,000 to hang out with Jerry fuckin Seinfeld? Where is Barber and VIR?

Yeah! Lol, it does suck! It's being made for elite track day goers.

But, you don't have to worry about that. What you can do, is HOPE that some company will come in and rent the track, and you pay them $150-250 a day for a track day. That's what all tracks do. There are tons of them out there!

Go to Borders or some book store, and pick up RoadRacingWorld Magazine. In the back, is the list of all the track day organizers, where, and when they are having events. You can try and see if you can find one nearby. While you're at it, mention the track above and see if they can solicite the track to rent, and do a track day there.

Barber is in Alabama, FAR away. But it's considered one of the finest tracks in America. Let alone, just going for the museum! Click on the link, then click on the Museum.

For Barber Museum ( http://www.barbermuseum.org/ ) <------MUST SEE!!

VIR is in Virginia, a lot closer. Also a fine track.

You can also go to Summit Point in West Virginia.  It might be closer since you are in western NY

I'm in San Diego. So the places I frequent most are Willow Springs and Fontana in California, and Pahrump in Nevada. I'm still dying to do Laguna Seca but you need a quiet exhaust (or stock) in order to do that due to noise regulations. Still need to hit up Button Willow, Sears Point and Infineon Raceway in California.
