Not sure I know the older 02-03 600 swing arms fit, never looked into a 1k swap. Wonder if its shorter then the Busa arm from axle to pivot bolt????

I think never SA looks much better. Is the pivot bolt the same diameter as Busa`s? Is the shock mount point the same?

I have an 03 GSXR 1000 swing arm on my 03 Busa. To say the least, it needed modding..... Have another one in the shop that just needs to be anodized. If your interested get in touch with me. GSXR 750/1000 swingarms are not a straight forward swap but once they're modded they take off about 1-1/4" in length. Very tuneable with the stock shock and will include 3 sets of machined dog bones that go from stock to a 7/8" lift. It took me 3yrs to put a package together that actually works. There are a lot of people out there that will tell you that this is plug and play, total bullshit. In 3yrs I've only seen one other bike that has accomplished this system, the Yoshimura X-1. You need to understand that you are totally changing the characteristic of the Busa in steering, weight balance and high speed ability. I think if this was an ez swap you would see more people doing it. What I have seen is 600 arms lengthened but think the lack of bracing isn't the smartest idea considering the Busa's power.

Would you care to share what exactly must be modified? Or shoot me a price.

I think $650 is a fair price. Plug and Play with the exception of removing 2 links from your chain, cutting or dremmeling your lower wing for tire clearance and a swingarm removal tool. You would get a 2003 GSXR 1000 swingarm modded w/chain guide and bearings, no guard or hugger, 3 sets of bones from stock to 7/8" lift and the brake bar. Re anodized (Sunday I will find out what colors are available). Once it's on it looks bone stock if you clear anodize I have yet to run across another Busa owner that notices mine. I also have rearset adapters (kicks) that set you back 1-1/2" and up about 1-3/8" on ebay that I sell for $45/55 if you don't have rearsets. If you really want to do this I would advise you to get rear sets to redistribute your weight. You don't need to get mine but you need to get your pegs back further than they are. Busa comfort with Liter bike capabilities.

I'm sorry but after talking to the machinist about the 06 swingarm I can't help you with the swap. The arm is a casting that neither of us feel comfortable about rebuilding for the Busa. The GSXR 2001-2003 750/1000 swingarm lends itself to modifications required for a clean safe swap. I'm not saying it can't be done, Yoshimura accomplished it earlier by reworking the bell crank system. After modification the swingarms we're using maintain the Busa bell crank so they utilize the original intended shock travel and adjustability. In a nutshell we have a system that works. We can anodize black or clear.

I am interested in the swap and I am currently looking for a 1k swingarm. I dont have $650 to spend on it but I am VERY mechanicly inclined and I am sure I can do it myself. any chance you have a 1k swingarm sittin around???

I have one of my last generation swing arms. It takes the 750/1000 bell crank. I have the dog bones but need to check to see if I have the brake arm.

2001-2002 G1K fits with 600 linkage and has smaller then Busa  bearings spacer in dog bones location. You can compare bearing spacer size on RonAyers website.

Canyon Carver,

What exactly you charging $650 for?
2001-2002 G1K swingarm sold on ebay $10 a piece.

Am I missing something here?

See my earlier post for details, also anodizing can be ordered black or clear.
For $10 you should get the ebay swingarm and do the work yourself. Once you realize how much work it is I'm sure you'll understand that $650 is more than fair. Please post your progress, there are too many yahoo's out there that really have no clue what it takes and swear it's a plug and play swap. Good luck and keep me in the loop.

What detail are you talking about?  I asked many times what exactly must be done and you never answered.
You expect someone paying 6 fukkin hundred fifty dollars for what?

I did exactly that and 2001-02 sw does NOT required modification.  Just SA, 600 Link and that is it. 15 minutes plugnplay.
Done, nice and easy..

If you paid any money to some smart azz who is trying to convince you that it`s not pnp.... well you got ripped off.

Have a good day everyone.

When I started my arms I did the same thing. It will only take you a couple runs to realize the combination doesn't work. The 600 link doesn't allow for much or any tuning on the shock. Again, post your progress. I'm not out to take advantage of anyone, I know what it takes to make the system work. At this point you're just at the beginning of the journey. If you take it to the track or even in the canyons really take your time. Your going to find that your current set up is VERY unforgiving. Again, please post your progress.

I`m riding for 22 years.  Believe me I know how to tune suspension. 600 link has shorter leverage making suspension 20-30% firmer, which is good thing for a Busa and My 265Lb geared up.  My forks has 1.1 springs and revalved. I did it and it works great for me.

I don`t have to prove anything, I made it work and that`s what matters.

I explained it in details, something you failed to do.   And I`m not even trying to sell anything.

How you expect someone to pay you $650 for something you failed to explain?

Actually, scratch that, I don`t want your answer. I`m done talking to you.
