The Gen2 tail has too many body seams.

Those radically stretched 'busas look ridiculous, I'd be embarrassed to be seen on those piles.

Gen2 With Gen1 rear. Whats the point :?: Thats a down grade.

The Gen1 with Gen2 rear makes sense, Thats an upgrade

...what's the "upgrade" part?

Its more of a conversion, upgrade would imply that it has specific benefits...its a matter of opinion.  Personaly I like the new bodylines, and it goes better with the older bodystyle than the original tail.

Just curious, but what's a ball park estimate on what it costs for only parts to do the tail conversion?

Where do you put the rectifier going to a smaller subframe and tail since it isn't located in the GenII tail and is located below the shock? Is it crammed in somehow?

I think the 08 tail is much cleaner looking with the all the lights integrated into the tail.  Mine is on the way, but I'm planning on running the 1st gen front upper, with the ram air holes molded in.  I like the curve of the newer tail section also...we shall soon see how the conversion works, I have a new 08 tank on the way also...if it doesn't mate up I'll be selling it around here soon.
I want to do this swap. Do i need to buy a 08 subframe to make the plastic line up?

I agree! I think you do have to get 08-up subframe tho
