It really depends on your location.  I would just make sure you shop around for the best price or what you consider a fair price...I paid $10,500 OTD.

By the time you pay tax, title, license, etc...you are talking $10,600-11,200 as a pretty standard price though without much fuss.  When they first came out some dealers wouldn't go much below MSRP so people were closer to $12,500 OTD.

FYI...dealer invoice including assembly is $10,235.  Don't forget the dealer still makes 3% off that price selling at invoice.

$11,000 with a hard tag riding it home. Personally I doubt they have any left overs and the new colors should be hitting show rooms within the next month or two. Id wait if you live in a place you can ride all year long for 09 hotness.

Where did you end up going and where do you live in CT? The dealers aren't moving to much on the prices. I live in Waterbury area.

yeah, $13,000 is what i paid. I looked at 3 different places and nobody was willing to move. So i decided on the only place that had the orange/black. After taxes, matching jacket, helmet, and gloves it came to exactly $15,000. AND WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!  Could be worse, you could spend $40,000 on a ducati 1098r and roll around on an italian made piece of garbage.

seriously. You are talking like a complete idiot. Im not biased to ducati in anyway shape or form but to say that that bike is a pile of garbage is just plain retarded.

An idiot? Ok pal, I don't come on here to insult people but I kindly suggest you get a life. You took serious offense to that huh? I wouldn't say my statement was retarded, I would call it an exageration. Of course it's not literally a piece of garbage but it's certainly not worth $40,000. Bottom line is, you could do worse than spending $13,000 on a busa.

Actually what you get for $40,000 is a bike inferior to the Hayabusa...I would say thats pretty much garbage!!!

Columbia is where I bought mine the 2nd week of June. She has 4,200 on her and several passes down the track. Love it! We usually go for a decent ride on Sundays if you're interested

Stop your crying. If you start to tally up the price of aftermarket parts vs what that comes with stock like suspension and traction control, which that bike has the best system inlcuding that of aftermarket, then yes its worth $40,000 for a person who will use it correctly.

Point is the ducati r model is a purpose built bike which is does damned near perfect. The Busa is a multi purpose bike that does nothing perfect but a lot of things decent.

THE BUSA DOES NOTHING PERFECT??!!??? I think you're on the wrong forum to be talking like that. And if you put $25,000 into a busa in aftermarket parts, you will have 1 of 2 things: either a show winning bike (which a stock 1098r is not) or one of the fastest machines on the planet (which a stock 1098r is not). Spend the $40,000 however you want. But if I had that kind of coin, I would buy a busa and put the other $25,000 in the stock market. Actually I wouldn't, I would buy another busa, and still have $10,000 left over, and I would have 2 bikes better than a 1098r!

Tell me what it does perfect? Im not on the wrong forum. I just dont see how a $10,000 mass produced bike is the holy grail of motorcyles like you are acting it is. I love my busa. I came from an K7 1000. Even the 1000 did things better than the busa. Like i stated it does nothing teh best just a bunch of stuff great

Crypt Keeper,

First off I think the 1098 R is an awesome bike and well built for its purpose (the track).  In answer to what the Busa does perfect, that is simple.  It rules the street.  The 1098 R can't keep up in acceleration on the roads most off us are on every day.  The Busa is the quickest and (except for the 187 limiter) one of, if not the, fastest regular production bike out there.  No one I know does a triple digit pass of another bike on a curved mountain road anyway, so I'd say the $12,000 Busa owns the $ 40,000 Ducati in that context.  Don't even think about what a Turbo Busa is capable of.... it will leave any production bike like its standing still (for a lot less than $40,000).  Not to mention its all day comfortable for a heavy six foot man.

My .02
2009 Black Busa, +8", lowered, Akro Full exhaust, PC5, custom tune, short geared, etc...
2008 Custom RCC Turbo Busa (SOLD)
2005 Red/Black  Stock  (SOLD).
2013 BMW X1:  Dinan tuned (DD Cage)

It was not built to the fastest in a straight line!!!! But built for roads with turns which require a bike that handling AND has brakes
But for the individual that like red Italian bikes it is the one to have
