Yosh Box vs 1397
« on: August 16, 2008, 05:01:53 AM »
Just wondering if the Yosh Box is able to adjust for the fuel requirements of a 13.1 CR 1397?  :?:

Maybe if you wind up the fuel pressure as well. Why go to the trouble of putting a 1397 in and doing such a basic tune.Get a pc or get the ecu tuned properly.

Have tried - no way to get the bike driveable. The Yoshbox can only tune according to throttle, the pipe, cams and other changes mean that the AFR curve will change with RPM. You will get very rich bottom end at any TPS position, and that is where you propably spend quite a lot of time if not racing only.

Second with Glenn71, get the ecu mapped properly or if not possible go for rapidbike or pc.

This is just a thought anyway. great to hear from someone who have tried it.

Also wondering, doesn't the other knob on the yosh box, have any effect on the low end driveability?

Just interested to know if it is even possible to get a proper tune to the bike with it.

You can choose the TPS positions with Yoshbox, but on a steady TPS position you always will have several RPM positions which can not be tuned. When modifying a bike the RPM positions are changing.

You can consider that e.g. 100% TPS you give +10%. That changes all RPM positions from 2000-10800. Your bike at around 3000-5000 will be too rich, also at 8000 too rich but 9-10800ok.  You then tune for 25% TPS and give -10%. Your bike at around 3000-5000 will be ok, but way too lean at 9-10800.

You really should tune by reflashing the ECU, there is a lot of free 1397 maps floating around already now.
