Just general questions
« on: August 18, 2008, 07:10:57 PM »
I'm picking my bike up on the 25th and had some general questions...
I know most don't buy a 'Busa for MPG, but what do your's get?  I saw where Sport Rider got something like 37-38 MPG.
What kind of oil is best after the 600 mile break in?
And, what are the free mods?

Thanks,

Jett

I don't think there are any free mods except for removing the "riding for dummies" stickers.

IF you run a few top end runs say 4 or so you'll get about 27 mpg. If you ride 90 to 100 with an occasional blast up to 140 or so, I'm getting around 39. If you ride like the law wants you too............then I get 42. Here is a pic of a top end run with a speed recall from my speedohealer. I buried the speedo real quick. The GPS read 183.4. I had another 2 hundred rpm's to redline to go. I had to slow down for certain reasons. Of course I was on a track and never would do this on a public road...........! :shock

Do you need the speed healer for a stock bike?

38-42mpg.  I use Mobil 1 full synthetic.  Do a search on the oil and you'll find tons of info.  As for free mods, I used the two rear reflector brackets for a fender eliminator. :thumb:

Get a 43/44 mpg averaging 80 on hwy and mixed with city driving as well.  Have had a high of 48 or so doing 75 all hwy.  Bike is 100% stock.  I usually keep tach below 6/7K rpm on accel and prob shift before 5K usually.  Top speeds every day are 100-120 so I don;t go balls out but ride her the way she was meant.
