No cotter key in rear axle?
« on: August 20, 2008, 03:50:44 PM »
I adjusted my chain the other day and noticed the 08 Busa has no cotter key in the axle. I have had many bikes and this is the first one I've seen like this. I know the previous Busa's have a nut with a cotter key. Also the new gsxr-600 and some other new Suzuki's. I'm sure the engineers know what they are doing, but now I'm thinking about it when riding. I tightend it to spec and put some lock- tight on it. Does anyone know why they eliminated it? Thanks!!

it is a self locking nut.
I like replacing them after about the 10th time
