Has anyone seen pics of the new Corbin Beetle Bags for the Gen II? I have been watching the site for months now. The only thing posted is
"Coming Summer of 2008"
But now that it is almost September it seems that the bags should be ready. Anybody see a prototype? Or maybe a spy photo?

Corbin site shows NO 2008 Beetle bags coming soon anymore ??.

Must have dropped for some reason?
I wanted them for my 2008.

I've been waiting a year. I actually delayed buying an '08 because I was considering an '08 Kaw ZX-14 just because Corbin's seats and bags were so superior to what they'd offered us '99-07 Busa drivers.

I call them every month to bug them. A nice lady from the California office told me two weeks ago that the old picture in both the pre-'08's and the '08's areas disappeared from the '08's position NOT because they'd given up. She assured me that they're still working on Beetle Bags for the '08+ Hayabusas.

Based on this, I went ahead and bought an '08. I'm using my RKA soft saddlebags *until*.

It sure would be nice NOT to have to monkey the rain covers off and on every time I want something. Also, hardbags would be one notch more secure than the little combination locks I put on the zippers of the soft bags to keep honest folks honest.

P.S. All of you please call Corbin every month to ask if they're ready or not. Tell your friends. Tell your friends to tell their friends.

Beetle Bags seem kinda small at 19.5 liters each so I went the Givi route.

Right. But take a look at what Corbin did for the ZX-14. Fifty percent greater volume, useful shape and top opening and nicely compliments the lines of the motorcycle. If they can do this for the 2008 Busa, they'll have my $$$.

Yes it can...the trunk setup I made myself using the base plate from my hump and the Givi mounting plate.

There is a trunk mounting kit from SW Motech so you can use the trunk and have a passenger at the same time.

The Givi trunk mounting plate I took off my FJ1200 Wingrack because I don't ride it anymore.

The SW Motech hardware for the Givi E41 side bags I got from Twisted Throttle for about 260US...The great thing about this hardware is you can remove the mounting hardware in about 30 seconds so there is no ugly racks left on your bike when you remove the bags.

I got the E41 bags on Ebay for 410.00/pr. ...the trunk is a 44 liter Kappa (made by Givi) I got locally for around 200US.

A bar is bolted between the license plate and the fender that the rack is bolted to.

Corbin has an '08 Hayabusa owner lined up to borrow his bike, so they can engineer the bags. But they don't have time.

"Why?", you may ask, with some irritation slipping through in your voice.

'Because. They are too busy working on bags for '09 Harleys.'

Hello all,
Corbin does not plan to produce or make any hard shell beetle bags for the 08 Hayabusa unless them see a increase in emailed demand for the product. I contacted this company on 3 different occasions about this product. The first two contacts resulted in the usual "We are working on it and it should be out sometime in the summer of 08."

At the end of January 09, I contacted the company again to find out where they were on the 08 Beetle bags and I was informed that unless they saw in increase in demand for the product via email they have no plans within the near future to produce the hard shell bag due to costs.

So if you want to see this particular product made, you may want to start up a huge email campaign to get this Beetle bag made.

Guess I should have opted for a ZX-14 rather than a year end '08 Busa after all.

If everyone starts sending emails stating that they desire to see a Corbin Beetle Bag/smugglers trunk for the 08/09 Hayabusa, they will probably be motivated to make that produce. Otherwise, it probably won't get produced according to the woman that I spoke to from Corbin's California office.

(I'd like to see a Corbin Beetle Bags and smugglers trunk made for the 08/09 Hayabusa. I've been waiting to buy this product since you announced that these products would be available since the summer of 08. I assure you that I'm not the only Hayabusa rider who has been waiting for you guys to get the job done when it comes to providing quality produces. I purchased a smugglers trunk for my 04 Honda CBR1000 and got great responses from other Honda drivers who wanted to own this product. I have since sold that motorcycle to two other friends of mine (smugglers trunk included) and have opted to purchase a 08 Hayabusa. One of my main reasons for buying the 08 Hayabusa was that I intent to buy a smugglers trunk and beetle bags products based on my satisfaction with my past purchase of a smugglers trunk for my CBR1000 and viewing the pictures of the 07 Hayabusa having the smugglers trunk/beetle bags.

“If you build it, they will come.” You have a large and growing second-generation Hayabusa fan base/ridership that is willing to buy your product but, if you don’t they’ll go else where and at a cheaper cost. There is a member of my Hayabusa forum who has already purchased a GVI hard shell bags for his 08 Hayabusa and his pictures of these hard shell bags speaks volumes. That may convince other members to forgo waiting for you people to get with the program and go with a cheaper alternative.)

You are exactly correct and we do need to get to the new Bussa.
We are looking for one to borrow in exchange for a free set up.
The bike would have to be tied up in our design studio for a while.
Find us a doner near Hollister.

They've either had a donor lined up but no time or their problem is they need a donor. Something smells fishy.
