Thanks Deb for posting, and thanks everyone for the well wishes, I couldn't be much happier with my trip to Bonneville, and Leslie is almost as I happy as I am with my new red hat, now she won't have to listen to me talk about it (as much).
I ended up bumping the MBG 1000 record to 208 with a 205 & 211 runs. Once I got the gearing right (thanks Mick) and mixture right, the ZX10 ran very well. With 90lb of ballast, I ran a bit over my best speed at Maxton. Once I get the intercooling working, and the Crower rods installed, I'll shoot for more.
Aussies Greg and Mick, and (fireman) Jim, it was great meeting you, you guys are a prime example of what can be done with a little money (in the bike anyway) and a lot of effort - to run the speeds you did with the equipment and minimum time invested is truly impressive, congrats on your records and red hats.
The Kiwi Award team was also very impressive, with much more to come I'm betting. Good luck for more records.
Jon and Todd, great seeing you, and hopefully I'll see you next week. Dan Warner and Tom Evans were excellent representatives of SCTA and land speed racing.
I'm outside of Peducah, KY now, on my way back to Georgia, long drive. Hope to see some of you folks at Maxton next weekend.
best,
Dean
