Does anyone know what was in DaveO's motor? Cams, Cr/pistons,who did his head, what pipe?

Do a search under DaveO.  He posted a thread with everything that was in his engine.  I guess people were curious about his setup so he put it all on the table.... ;)

Dave built a very precise engine but his real secret was in the tune. If there was a HP hiding inside, Dave found it. RIP Dave, we miss you as a friend and competitor.  LSL  :thumb:

Dave called me a few days before he died.  We talked about his 1507.  Stetson did the case mods for oiling, had 2 fans on it, put 4000 miles on it in 1 year, and 2000 miles on it the year before.  I was stunned.  It ran 222 with either Lee on it, or Stetson at MAXTON.

He was a nice guy whose brain was about 3x the size of a normal tuner. RIP

Anyone know what model Accel fuel pump, and magnaflow reg he wa using, I realy need to find out. :thumb:

not sure about the mallory
he once gave me the number to get one but my local speed shop is not a fan of mallory

I was talking about his fuel reg, It said it was a magnaflow, I was wondering witch model It was. :thumb:

copied from an old e-mail I happened to have saved from him

 
I plugged that line, but you can run to the new reg if desired...it will pull fuel out at idle/small throttle openings....not a bad idea. I mapped mine without that...
 
pump is accel 74701
 
Reg is magnaflow mp-9925
 
both avail from summit for <$300
 
The grey/white should be fine...it has to be the setup. Has worked on all other busas.

Dave was wonderful in ferreting out anything available in the ECM,, will there be anyone that will feel his passion,, or is someone else doing the re-flashing? Forgive me guys,  I have been gone for a while. Not trying to offend anyone.

A few people are very invoved in the re-flashing. Petrik and Ridge Racer were instrumental in getting things available to all of us, and also corresponded with Dave O on a regular basis if I recall correctly. More recently, Smithabusa has taken this to yet another level to make it easy for all of us less knowledgable people have the ability to reflash the ECU and make tuning adjustments.

I just bought a bunch of parts from Greg and he refunded part of my shipping costs as his website put in too much.  I guess honesty and integrity are still out there!  Good on ya Greg!!
