Cut off for "Heavy Hitter"?
« on: October 10, 2008, 07:39:17 PM »
At what point does one become a Heavy Hittter? I'm 215lbs in my underware and always considered myself borderline. What's the group view?

Hospital bills suck.

The only real exercise I get is when I take my son swimming at the YMCA once a week. No impact aerobics for me. :thumb:

230 plus as for the weight I only have 11 percent body fat and I run 2 miles a day and work out daily. the weight for me is just I come from a large family. But what works great is to stay away from bread and sweets. I eat mostle veg and meat for dinner. dont eat after 1900 and dinner is my smallest meal with breafast being my largest. Eat 4 to 5 small meals a day and get some hydroxycuts with no caffine. you can loose just what you wanna do. m currently on a 2500 calorie diet to try to get down to 260 so I can start back parachuting.

I don't qualify by class standards but my bike begs to differ everytime we go to the track  :D

I weigh in just over 200 lbs in shorts and almost 215 geared up to race. My 05 1000 is geared 15/44 to try to make up for it but she struggles to get that 9.75.

Some of you heavy dudes are getting it DONE now with those 5.50's-5.80's you are running 50 lbs heavier than me  :thumb: :thumb:

That's next in line. Right now I am redoing the clutch and drilling the three extra holes to get it to 60 ft a little better. Then comes a bazaaz box and some juice.

You guys are small. I'm at 260lbs dry and 275lbs fully suited. The Busa clutch is not very forgiving at my weight and at mile high altitude. Nearly impossible to slightly ride the clutch. About 2 weeks ago I ran my mostly stock Busa. The bike is lowered at the forks about 3/4" then strapped down almost all the way, the rear is at it's lowest position on the links and it is geared +6 on the rear. Running about 2 gallons of fuel. Not having any spinning issues at all, in fact I saw sky on several runs and one run is noted below. I also have been using an air shifter. The DA was not too bad at 6900' and almost absolutely no wind. Here are my times.

10.65et @129.6mph w/1.71 60ft. time
10.70et @129.50mph w/1.75 60ft. time
10.71et @129.73mph w/1.72 60ft. time.
10.72et @129.15mph w/1.72 60ft. time on back wheel for about 100ft.

Through the traps in 4th at about 10,500rpms.

I am going out this weekend and the temps will be 10' less so the DA should be close and I may make a few more HP. I am sure I can get a 1.65 60ft. if I can just slide the clutch another 1/4 of a second. My goal is to hit a 1.60 but I just don't see it w/o a clutch mod and i will not get one as I am still putting on my turbo setup this winter along with a lockup.

What do light guys think?

Steve

Thanks.

Probably won't have a choice. Thinking no more than 4" on the arm.

My buddy who is 155lbs or 170lbs suited ran yesterday on my bike. He went 10.19@137mph w/1.69 60ft. time. I ran 10.60et@130mph 1.70 60ft. time. My math is right when I say 20-25lbs of dead weight will equal .10 and 1 mph. His mph being better than that may be contributed to the aero difference between us.

i went on the 13th, just threw the lockup in and it drove through it good trying to leave.
1.78 60ft went a 6.38 @ 121 mph  :( i hope to get my 60ft alot better, not bad i guess for never installing a lockup before, i know what to do next time though  :D

What's guys, 320lbs. Do you guys (300 club) wear full leathers, and were can I find some that will fit. 48 waist.

Don't want it to feel like my little brother's set of leathers. If there's a link to some sites. Haven't found any myself. Thanks.

Well. As I have still been collecting more turbo parts this summer, I recently got a Ultra clutch mod and I am now running some Amsoil 10w40 and will be using MR9 for the first time. I am hoping this will help me get that 1.6X 60ft. this coming weekend. I'll keep this updated as soon as I have some data. Gained a few lbs since my last post so that sucks but I did lose another 15lbs off the bike(wheels being the major part). I'll post pics as well.

Goal: 10.4X @132mph 1.65 60ft.
