Same as any Smart TRE...... 4th or 5th gear resistance... still the same result.

Well if you give me  a little while to get my instructions updated for the busa... and my JSDPro (been selling them since June) can be had for $110.

yes.... as long as you don't want a gear display. Ivans is a fixed 5th gear.

No you don't........ I also have the x-tre and use map 4 on it and find that the bike is more responsive.

For 02-07s the cool thing is now with ECU flashing you can do 5th gear timing all the time and still keep your gear based fueling.  The flashing device will let you do this an a ton of other stuff, or if you wanna send your ECU and $40 Ill flash it to work like the good 1/2 of a TRE and leave off the bad 1/2

Please explain what you mean by good 1/2 and bad 1/2 on the TRE.  Thanks.

Tre puts bike in 5th gear mapping all the time

Good because you get more timing in lower gears

Bad because you also get fueling for 5th gear ram air compensation etc

Suzuki spent a lot of time developing gear based fueling, tossing a tre in nukes that

Thanks.  Another question, what about PCIII and dyno tuning?  Is that basically just enhancing what is already there with the gear based fueling?  What about tuning with a PCIII and the TRE?

Take the tre off IMO

Not worth the hassle

If you want more timing in the lower gears do it the right way without jacking up fueling

You mentioned 02-07s busa for the above ECU flashing service (ECU & $40), possible for 2nd generation busas??
And one more thing - about the 'high-gain suzuki de-restrictor (switch-able)', when switched on, is it true i can maintain the ECU allocated stock mapping for each and every gear? when in 6th gear, the built-in gear indicator shows 5 or 6?

No 2nd gen flashing yet

Yep high gain mod leads 12345 stock and replaces 6th with 5th, gear indicator shows a 5 in 6th gear just like the ecu sees.  With toggle switch on that's how ot works, with toggle off all stock

It's been shown over and over that the TRE slows most Hayabusas in the qtr. Brock Davidson has been proving that forever. Just like Greg said, it's because of the fueling and ram-aor compensation of the 5th gear map.

I tested the old school Ivan TRE from repeatable 1st gear to 4th gear and 2nd gear to 5th gear roll-on tests. With the TRE, the initial acceleration was better with the TRE but once I made the next gear change the bike lost acceleration substanially through out the next gears. I personally saw a little more than a .10 et and almost 2mph in the qtr. 60ft was slightly better with the TRE but lost a bunch from there on.

Now that I have been using Greg's reflasher, I have an opportunity to play around with the timing throughout the whole RPM spectrum. Kick ass!!

sorry smith, one more question.. i understand that with toggle on, for 12345 runs on stock gear base fueling, but how about 6th gear, does it run on the stock 6th gear base fueling or 5th gear base fueling?
