I prefer the APE roller conversion but with a stock stroke crank youll have to use a manual cct since its longer . It comes with a new crank sprocket and larger diameter cam sprockets youll have to degree in and youll have to clearance the cam chain guides . Its a damn nice piece though . I wount build a big hp motor without one .

Vance and hines makes a nice HD stock replacement thats nice and inexpensive as well .

He just said Vance and Hines. Might be able to buy direct or Schnitz sells them.

I would be cauious of replacing your chain with a "HD" one without first figuring out why your stock ones keep breaking.

And when you are ready to make more power, send your head to Bill at Porttech. Excellent work at a great price.

Agreed. This shouldn't be happening in what I'm assuming is a stock valvetrain. Something's wrong and a heavier timing chain probably will only add some time before it goes again.

They are replacing it all free and labor, but i feel its going to happen again because i think there is a bad run of chains..I read that this happen to 2003 gsxr 1000..I have no clue why i am going threw these chains i raced at the track 6 times about 20 passes..my friend beats the shit out of his bike and doesn't even change the oil..no problems..that just kills me..

Are you running aftermarket cam sprockets?

who sets the tension on it?
could it have been set too tight?
or possibly a misalignment on the sprockets somewhere?? (anything is possible and id check each part and do some measuring to find the issues)

Change all the guides when its apart....If you have a stock stroke what happens is there isnt enough adjustment on the tensioner...it actually is all the way out most likely. What I do is machine the cam tensioner boss to make up for this...If your running a bigger crank theres no need to do it...

They need to replace the motor instead of screwing around with it...
