Yoshi 4 into 1 or slip ons.
« on: November 21, 2008, 09:39:05 PM »
Hi guys

Getting excited now, I get my new Gen 2 next month.
I really want to change the stock cans, my question is.........
As far as power gains are concerned, would a Yoshi TRC full system be better than a pair of Yoshi R55 slip ons?
These are the options available to me.
Cost wise the full system is a few  dollars more, but the R55's look fantastic.
Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

The midpipe is unfortunately very restrictive and heavy on the gen 2 busas. I bought the yosh r-77 slipons for mine before I really learned enough about what I should buy for what I want to do... If you want to change sound and appearance then slipons are perfect. If you're going for power and weight loss then full system is the answer

Maybe I'm not understanding or reading these charts properly, but they dont show any significant gains using the 4 into 1 system, in fact torque is down from stock.
This from the Yoshi website.

I think you will get a noticable positive difference across the entire rev range with the header over the slip on's - but another noticable item is the weight savings.

If the bike makes the same power but weighs 15lbs less, (obviously?) it will be faster

The stock headpipe on the busa is HEAVIER than any (two?) headpipe(s) I have ever lifted.

I'll say mine is sexy too.

They're the stainless with carbon tips and yes I do want to sell them... I've already started talking to one person from this board about selling them to him and if he backs then they're back on the marketand I'll let you know

Don't waste your time with slipons,my friends full yosh system put out 188 hp on the dyno my Akro made 186 hp thats a 12 to 14 hp gain for both of our Gen2's,and you drop 40 plus lbs.The difference in handling and acceleration is amazing, spend abit more for the full, you won't regret it,do the right thing you'll love the extra hp,lol

The draw back with full system, is that you will need a PC and a good tune.
With slip-ons, it's plug and play.

It's worth the extra money, the wieght loss and power gain is much better than the Gen1,12 to 14hp and 40 plus lbs wieght loss is huge, drive your stocker then jump on a piped busa with a good tune back to back and you'll spend the money, astronomical difference in handling alone never mind power.I drove my 01 stock for 30k miles and never minded not putting a pipe on,had an 05 busa piped and sometimes I wished I left it stock but the 08 I really enjoy having the pipe on the bike as it is way funner to ride,it really transforms the bike into an animal.

Did the Akro 4-2-1-2 race system on my 08 Busa and the results were amazing!  192 hp and 109 tq The bike really rips now! The tq was over 100 from 5000 to 9000 rpm. The midrange to me is the most fun for the street. :thumb:

The twin and the single make the same power as far the Akro site shows,I guess it depends on the dyno, what did your bike baseline at.

I think the twin has better low and mid power though.

You are correct the twin makes more torque and hp from 4000 to 7500rpm,peak hp is actually lower by 150rpm with the single, not that it matters I thought it would be the other way around.I have alot of torque my self 186hp and 107ftlb of torque, the increased power threw out the entire rev range is awsome,my friend Lew owns a cycle shop tuned it to perfection, smooth as glass.I would like to drive your bike to see the difference in the midrange, thats what made the bike so much more fun,I just love the carbon single look,it really flows with the new style of the Gen2.

Exactly why I bought Bouncer's slip-ons. :thumb:
