$1500 '05 Busa Project Bike
« on: November 23, 2008, 12:45:09 AM »
Hello, everyone. I am new to the site. After my '07 Candy Plasma Blue ZX10 was stolen   and paid off, I got a text message from a friend who had a friend who was selling his '05 Busa because he had tickets to pay off for $1500. I was warned that the bike was in pretty rough shape, as the previous owner bought it after spending a whopping 2 months learning to ride on a 600(!!!!). I was skepitcal, but took a look. The guy laid it down on the left side, but had the common sense to install frame sliders, so the damage wasn't that bad. However, he beat the hell out of the bike and didn't do basic maintenance, because 2nd gear is just about gone, and the chain was slappin around from never having been adjusted, not to mention that it had a very nice coat of rust on it :grn: . It also has a LOUD ASS set of D and D pipes that will be the first thing to go. I took it for a ride around the block, then jumped on the freeway for about a mile or so just to get a feel for it :D. This bike begged me to take her and give her a good home, so I shelled out the cash and loaded her on the back of my Dodge Ram. I will be posting pics soon, as I just found an '07 engine with 3200 miles on it. Wish me luck, gang.

Looks like I will be doing a rebuild on the engine in the bike, as the '07 engine was gone by the time I got back with the guy that had it. Thinking about going with the big bore kit, nothing too exotic or extravagant. I will be posting a damned near new Shinko drag radial on here soon, 95% tread. Goin with Pirellis. Pics will be up by Tuesday, Nov. 25th. I plan on doing a step by step rebuild with pics, so you guys stay tuned. Thanks!!!
