Steering stem nut removal

I am trying to remove the steering stem nut without the tool can anyone help I don't want to damage it to bad.

Borrow or make a tool or you,l have a mess
The older you get do you notice you start chickening out way before the bike does

Geez,, I think it was 53mm. Not in the garage,, are you talking about the top nut?  :shock:

I used a 1" 1/4.  worked fine.
