Its clear to me what happened.
This guy takes off on twistie road and is not doing bad .
A clearly faster rider goes by him and his riding goes to shit . Right then and there.Probably thinking" Geeze that guy just passed me like im standing still ,I guess i should at least try  to keep up or somebody might call me the slow guy".
Now he cant even keep it in his own lane .
Target fixates on where he really doesnt want to go and SMASH .
Im sure someone died here .
 Does somebody have a different take on this?

i dont have much respect for the rider that passed him either. He was also crossing the centerline when he didnt have too.
Very bad habit to get in to.
 No lane discipline.
He really schooled the slower guy didnt he?

Pete your comments pretty much hit the nail on the head, If you lived around here and road the Dragon much that shit goes on all the time, the one saveing grace is that its not a high speed road even the faster guys cant average much over 50 -60 at most

the guy in the other lane made him loose concentration on the turn he should have leaned into more, and that 1st near miss through his concentration off also, and he also shouldn't been trying to do wht the guy in front of him was doing, passing those cars over the line....busy road, trying to do what the other guy was doing..

That's what happens when you pass over a double yellow, that's what got him in trouble in the first place.  He couldn't complete the pass because the road went right, he didn't just pitch it in (as mentioned, he target-fixated) and the guy I really feel sorry for is the poor schmuck in his own lane that got tagged.

Not to say I haven't passed over a double yellow, but I make sure I have the room to make it, and usually at much lower speeds where a bike's acceleration really comes into play.
