35,800 on bike. On my third chain and second set of sprockets now. It's time for new chain and sprockets too. A few years back, when I was young and dumb. The guy at the local bike shop told me it was a waste of money to by those expensive chains. So he sold me a standard (p.o.s.) chain for $50 bucks for my busa. Lasted two weeks. That's how I learned about chains :)

I seem to recall having pretty good results on Turbusa with a D.I.D. chain, but there was another brand, it does not come to mind right now, that was as good if not better than the D.I.D.  I did not run a clip on the master link...........I ground and stamped a full link for the master.  I never wanted to take a a chance on that clip comin' off.  I see now that the Gen II has a similar set up.

I'll be adding around 3,000 more to the 37,000 now after I get back from my Montana trip on the 14th.  Should read 40+ in one more week :bike:

I would be willing to bet that sucker does not use a drop of oil between changes, yes?

Never had until just before this trip.  I checked and it was between a quarter to a third quart low, just low in the sight glass.  I attribute this to having a few dyno runs up to the limiter in 5th gear.  I seldom run it up past 180 on the street...  I almost forgot, my ending mileage was 40,367 and my trip average for the whole 3,227 mile trip was 40.1 mpg!  The first day from San Jose CA to The Dalles OR was 682 miles and I averaged just over 70 mph.  My mpg wasn't very high that day for sure. :)

this is crazy to me.  Have you ever re ringed it or anything?   And its boosted, craziness.  I wouldnt buy a bike with more than 10K miles on it prior to me being the owner.  How many miles have you put on it personally?  crazy high miles

i use to have a ghetto kit on it and at 59k i detoneted so i had to replace 2 pistons, while i had it apart i reringed it, but it really didnt need it at that time, and i put all the miles on it, the compression is still well within specs, it now has an rcc kit, i had nothing but problems with the ghetto kit

All you have to do is ask yourself who built the ghetto kit?   :td:

Weather its a waste of money or not is a matter of opinion, how often a dude wants to change his oil is up to him, I have road bikes for almost 50 years, if you count the mini bikes and scooters, that makes 25 bikes, and I don't think my oil has ever went 2000 miles on a change, with any oil, I personaly don't go in for that 5, 6, 7, thousand mile oil changes, but I won't fault those who do, its there bike, theres no way in hell you can tell me that oil is still doing its job when its got 6 or 7K miles on it,and I don't care if its so called full synthetic or $1.50 a qt Wally World special, what I mean is how do you know what oil is in the jug other than whats on the label, other than it feels like oil,...........you know that gasoline all comes out of the same cross country pipe, no matter who's pump it comes out of

38,200 miles now. Only 400 to meet my personal goal for this season. Summer is over. Wish I could ride year round.

Wow,

It's good to know that properly cared for these bikes last a long time.

But now for the more important question:  Who has the most miles on their bike while driving over a C Note (100)?

Just kidding - sort of

Be a little more specific, a tank of fuel will only last so long. Same for the tires  :D
