I'm using Pilots street compound on the front and a Race compound medium on the rear. I wasn't sure when we went either so I went with what the Majority suggested. I have however tested to 187MPH on more than one occassion with Shinko's and had no problems whatsoever.

I just run the regular street Pilot Power, but I'm kind of heavy and don't go too fast. Plus it's a ZX-12 so it does not have as much power as some of these big Busa's. It does have a touch of nitrous though.

"Just a touch of nitrous".  As in just enough to blow an exhaust pipe off?

used 2CT's myself.  Wheelied off the line everytime without fail, and never did a burn out.  (burn out and make the tire shorter? hell no) also did stoppies at the end of the track nearly every run just for fun.

These are the best street motorcycle tires i have ever ridden on bar non.

race tires have more rolling resistance than street tires. So unless you really need them, I would stay away from them.
worry about doing what is right, and let someone else worry about all the rest.

+1 for the dual compound tire.

I use the Pirelli Rosso.
The center medium compound is soft enough to give good grip, but firm enough that it isn't shredded by the rough Texas concrete.
