gsxr 1000 shock question

i just put a straight link in my bike and my stock k5 shock is a little to long , its now the lowest point, before i bought a straight link the shock was my lowest part , so now i can get to my question , how do i fix this problem  ? id idealy like not to spend 800+ on a new rear shock just to get a few inches lower . ideas ?

I would like to know the answer to this question also.  I do know that Penske makes a spring that is an inch shorter than stock.  I wonder if swapping out your spring with this shorter one would shorten the shock or make it too soft.  Just a thought.
