Post up your dyno numbers or charts for your Gen IIs......
« on: February 27, 2009, 01:30:18 PM »
We just put a Muzzy pipe and Bazzaz on my buddy's 08, with 800 miles it made 179hp before the tuning and 184.5hp aftewards.....  I was kind of expecting a little more but we didn't dyno it stock. This particular dyno shop claims they normally get 175hp out of them stock so....the dyno reads in the ball park...

We have another buddy's we will be tuning in the next few weeks, his is an 08, 6k miles and has the Brock's alien head and Bazzaz setup.... He will dyno on the same dyno as the previous busa....They are in competition it seems....curious to see how much more the Brock's makes...

What numbers were you guys getting stock and piped/filtered/tuned?

Thanks in advance... :thumb:

Yosh r-77, DNA filter, shorties. about 900 miles. Shows with and without "decibel reducer"
Simply removed the Decibel reducer and custom mapped.
To be honest the blue was the very first full pull of the day so it could have been reading slightly low.

Why stop so early? It was still climbing and not near the limiter yet.
Any day on a motorcycle like this that ends just needing parts and labor is a good day.

Well I can't post the charts but we have dynoed 4 08's and two had alien heads and brocks maps and 1 made 185.6 and mine made 184.9 both around 108 ft lbs. my buddys with brocks gen 3 style can made 183.7 107 ft lbs. Bike that made 185.6 runs 9.68 with a 270 lb unsuited rider that's just learning. other 2 have ran 9.28 to 9.32 on pump gas at 59 inch wheelbase with 185 lb unsuited and 220 lb unsuited riders. on pump gas. but just for reference we had all 3 on another dyno that read high and they all made between 199 to 202 LOL.

He didn't realize that until after the fact. I think with a custom map, it will make more power.

Well, we had a local dyno day and dynoed 4 08 busas....here was the run down

1) My buddy Rob's that I started this thread about....Full Muzzy, K&N, Bazzaz and custom map..... 184.36hp
2) My buddy Joe....the second one we were wondering about...... Brock's alien head, K&N, Bazzaz, generic map(needs tune)  185.40hp...
3) Some other guy there, Two Bros slip ons, full length cans........ 174.xxhp
4) Matt's 08.......Some kind of horrible slip ons, short like Boz Bros or something........171hp..(he has a Brock alien head waiting to go on it w/ PCV...

They were all pretty close depending on the mods, the dyno was a DJ250i.  Numbers were uncorrected...When putting them in STD correction, it was about .5 difference, when putting them in SAE, they were 5-6hp lower.  We had pretty cool, dry air so they wanted to give the customers true numbers of what they were making that day.... There was also a butt load of 06-08 Gix 1ks and 08 Honda 1000RR, all in the mid to upper 150s...  This dyno seems very comparable to Johnny Cheese's, I believe Johnny's reads about 3-4hp higher on average, at least with the runs on my bikes from dyno to dyno.....All very comparable..

Was a pretty interesting day.  I would like to see Joe's 08 with some Yosh cams and a tune....I am sure it would be 195hp or so with stock reliability.... :thumb:

heheh, yes they are hotbodies ghetto slipons. I cannot wait to get the new stuff installed. Joe didn't do too bad without a tune.

I have an 08, that I modded the stock exhaust.......good for a 5 hp increase!
dynoed each separate piece...remove cat from header pipe...worth 2hp &
dissected the cans, removed the entire baffle system & built perforated taped cores, nickle plated them, repacked cans, reinstalled end caps, looks like new, factory system, picked up a additional 2.5 to 3hp, sounds slightly deeper & a little louder, not much though! (lost a lot of weight, around 22lbs)
in fact I have it for sale.....went with a brock a/h when I finally got the money saved...
