I had always thought stock sport bikes would go faster without the side fairings on, as with them on they create a large funnel to feed the radiator, and I thought surely getting rid of the funnel would help the bike go faster.
I thought that was a good part of the advantage of lowering a bike for top speed stuff.
But I tried it and it really did not seem to make a difference. Not 100% perfect way to measure such a thing, but it's what i could do.
If you get 10mph with fairing then you would have the world record for both nekid (@254) and fairings (@264) correct? Lee still hold the standing mile record at 260mph?
pretty amazing stuff to be sure.
Do you think the bike is less areodynamic with the wide rear tire? I would think that it is but what do i know. How did you find a big tire that was safe to do those speeds on?
