B.King.. does it make sense ?
« on: April 09, 2009, 05:00:59 AM »
We all remember the first offering as the concept bike when we were offered so much and then 6 years
later were given so much less ?

Having test ridden the B.King for around 4 or 5 hours last year I wonder does it really add up ?

Its a very large bike, unnecessarily so?

Its very fast and powerful, but it has no fairing to hold that speed for long.

Its heavy.

The bike is very good theres no doubt about that, but it lacks character.
Its very competent and its quick, but its just bland ?

Its a classic big retro bike Jap bike, loads of power and no character?

Although I really enjoyed riding it and the roll on acceleration from 80 mph upwards is amazing.
Its a very balanced and together motorcycle.

A streetfightered recent GSXR1000 would give much, much more than the B.King?

Brilliant handling.
Great chassis.
Great brakes.
Ultra light weight.
Flickable with ultra sharp steering.
Same or similar power.
I have no more sh*ts to give.

I've never ridden one myself but the way ppl talk bout em', I figured it would sorta have a feel bit like a Ducati  hypermotard ???

Comfort is the number one thing for me. As a 5 10 230lb man the bike feels very balanced and clean to me, handles better then my busa after I did the work to it. Most of all, I can ride hundreds of miles and guess what.... I can still feel my hands  :D  I was excited about this bike the moment I test rode it, I spent 48 hours after the test ride thinking about it and breaking the whole thing down, now I cant really remeber the 109. Its like having a Busa without all the issues related to the riding position for me.

Honestly I have np with the wind at 160 indicated, its not to bad.

I`ve only sat on Duke Motards in dealer showrooms and they feel very different to the B.King.
The Duke is tall and narrow and tall and narrow ..... its got some poke mind you

The B.King feels more like the GSX1400 retro, but more of the same.  :thumb:

Thats a hell of a feeling when you`ve got a bike you really cannot wait to get it out all the time ! Thats when its FUN !  :D

I will say the B.King got many more looks from other road users than my well sorted Busa........... I felt a bit miffed initially  :(
but then I remembered that the general public know very little about bikes and one plastic bike looks much the same as the next in their eyes.  :thumb:

I went investigating the hypermotard after this convo the other nite, looking at the test and the vid gave me a taste for 1, they are selling 2nd hand here for 20 large, that would make 3 bikes in the garage, the misses would shoot me, or worse maybe, have sex with me !!

Doesn't seem to be many 2nd handy's here either, only 3 in all of OZ , thats the "S" i take it thats the primo model . Huge fun factor, you'd never wanna ride it on 2 wheels. This topic started bout the B king sorry gettin'n off the subject a bit.

Anyone check out ATK motorcycles?  They have a 700 cc two stroke called the Intimidator! Now that would be my Idea of a supermotard! got lights? ...Oh Hos!! I love my B-King, It looks "tough" to me, and runs like a bat outta hell.
No computer operating busa freak!
