Called a local gas supply thinking maybe ill get a monster bottle (64) lb to save in bulk. Quoted 235 plus 100 deposit, about 3.70 per pound

Then I called a local speed shop who I figured would be real high

3.50 per lb, seems cheap to me sweet, I figured 4.50 to 5.00 there, glad I was wrong

9$ lb here they tell me they loose to much in the lines trying to fill a 2.5 bottle

When I went to checker last time they told me there scale did not measure small bottles so they guessed.They got 2.0 in a 2.5 not bad.so next time I'm gonna bring my scale in for them.

no,here in fla prices are very competitive with so many speed shops around....I work part time at one and you would not believe what they pay for it....

Use to pay $4 a pound but they wouldcharge me $10 cause they said they would loose about $2 worth filling the small bottles.....so just bought a mother bottle and filled smaller ones anytime anywhere

filling your own bottles from a mother bottle is always cheaper,and you know that you get a complete fill,because u are weighing it yourself......

Whats involved in filling your own bottles?Is there a kit? or is it just a larger bottle & the small bottle & transfer line?

You guys have got it good

We pay $13 / lb up to $20 / lb. I just got a 64lb/ 30kg bottle which still costs $7/ lb but i know how much is in my bottle and it wasnt top filled with CO2

You wouldn't beleive the prices we pay for race fuel either. Methanol is ok at $250 / 205 litre or 44 gal drum but the high octane race fuels are $$$$$$$.Click on the "fuels" in the middle of the page for prices. Leigh

I tried to get a work permit / visa for the USA but they made it too hard to get one so gave up.Leigh
