How far can you drop an 08 with replacement triples?

After looking at the taper on the lower fork tubes, it looks as if you could only drop the front by about 3/4" by replacing the upper clamp. Is that correct? Thanks

That may be true if u use one like the trac lowering triple that replaces the whole thing, but mine just bolts in place of the stock grey cover and i have it lowered around 2". Cycle concepts makes them and has them on sale I saw.  :thumb:

when you lower more than 3/4 with any top clamp you lower it onto the taper portion of the forks and it doesn't clamp as tight
