Nos gearing?
« on: June 09, 2009, 10:58:11 PM »
Ok here is the deal

I am running a 16/40 combo and just hitting the limiter feet short of the line in 4th. Does the Nos require a different gearing. when she ran a couple of night ago I blew thru the top end at 163 mph on a slow time. Oh I am also breaking the tire loose in 3rd at half track so am having some pretty wild smokers through the lights.

Am running a sheinko 22 to 25 psi
#38 dry nos jet
full airbox mod short stacks
6 inch stretch& strut
no base gasket spaz intake cam/int on exhaust
ecu flashed.with a slightly modified smith's nos map
running on 95 octane pump fuel
high humidity track at sea level

What yah all think???

Put a 39tooth gear on back and lower your tire pressure to 14-16 psi should help traction on the far end of the track.
Hayabusa, because 14's are just slow!

Your tire pressure is too high with a strut

It wont slip on the rim not unless you are shooting a big shot with a slick.

Spray the rim edges with adhesive before you put the tire on... Inexpensive bead lock.   It will hold then trust me

put a shock on the bike and it won't spin and I bet you will 60' better as well. I always ran untra softs at 10-12 psi. Those shinko slicks are very tempramental, I would strongly consider a power one. I was personally running 16/45 at 70" 205 suited with 1.33-1.35 60' times and using all six gears in the 1/4 and running 8.4xx at the same mph you are.

yep have seen some of the errors in my ways. going to a custom shock 4 inches longer and a new motor. as I melted the other and going to the mickey T full slick... and some body work to try and Nail some aero to. plus a big diet for the little fat bugger.
