The ECU editor 2.0 has progressed well and we can start putting it to a wider test.

At this moment can not provide any individual user support over email or pm:s due to lack of time so please ask any questions publicly here on this board. If you decide to use this, its as always at your own risk. This is tested to work in Vista, you need to run this as an administrator. You may need microsoft .net 3.0 framework for installation.

Testversion with following capabilities is now ready for testing and feedback. Caution should be made when tuning maps particularly with fast flashing.
- Raise RPM limits up to 12500rpm
- Remove top speed limits
- Fuel map tuning (both IAP and TPS maps)
- MS (e.g. nitrous) fuel map tuning (TPS maps)
- Ignition map tuning
- MS ignition map tuning
- Engine data and map tracing (still some bugs, but works fairly well)
- Quick shifter for fuel and ignitioncut with RPM range adjustable kill times
- Compulsary map sharing is removed
- Interchangeable maps between EU and US with selecting the map type in ecueditor software
- fast flashing method for dynoing to speed up the flashing times

The software trial version can be downloaded from here:
http://www.ecueditor.com
Additionally you may need this from microsoft:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=333325FD-AE52-4E35-B531-508D977D32A6&displaylang=en

The interface instructions are these:

Does this work with Gen1's? If so my current harness will work?

Ecu editor 2.0X works with Gen 1 as well. No change in functionality, just a slightly different interface adn no user level / map sharing.

... for gen2 you need a new interface, e.g. the connectors and pins are different. The software now takes care of resetting the ecu before starting to flash it or in some cases when engine data needs resetting. Also the software enquires from the interface that the interface is in programming state. Also the enginedata is completely different. The idea is that the gen2 interface will be plugged into Yoshbox and SDS connectors after adding or rewiring two ecu harness wires.

Like John said, with gen1 not much is changed, only compulsary map sharing is removed for test users.

The gen2 shifter functionality is the same as with gen1 even though fuelcut & igncut setting is still missing from ecueditor. Anyhow its a combined fuel and ignitioncut for faster shift time. You can see on the gear display when the shifter is pressed for an easy adjustment of preload.

Wiring is described in the thread below more in detail:

great work as always from Petri and everyone else involved.  thumb

For the Gen 1 bikes would you still need to cycle the power to reset the ecu or does the software do this for you now? Will swtiching to the latest version improve/decrease the flash time?

Like John said above, with gen1 not much is changed, only compulsary map sharing is removed for test users. So you will not see benefits for changing to ee2 for gen1 at this stage.

With gen2 you dont need to cycle the power.

In theory u can use the flapper valve to trigger the air shifter harness though I haven't tested it.  My launch/shift with autoshift triggering the air shifter harness would work as well.

The reset of the ecu before flashing (if this was changed for the k2-7) was nice.  Having to hit the switch every time was kind of annoying when making change after change.

Can anyone tell me when you use the clear DTC function in ECU EDITOR does it clear TCM Ram & ECM Rom ? Reading SDS instructions it states that ECM Integrating ROM can keep data in memory even with battery disconnected whereas TCM integrating Ram loses memorized data when battery disconnected. It goes on to state that an SDS is needed to erase DTC history ? Hence trying to find out if the
Clear DTC function button in ECU Editor clears just current codes or history of fault codes also ?

Still pending testing, bought 2 ecu's, waiting for the 1st one to show up to see if it flashes, then off to a buddies house an hour away to try it on his bike.
