Alright bro this is what u gotta do. First (with the key off) u push the button in that is next to the shift light. With it pushed in u turn the key on while still holding the button in. It will cycle through all rpm range and back then jump to where the preset shift light comes on(somewhere between 5K-12k). when it does that let go and push however many times until desired rpm is selected(thats when ur shift light will turn on). When u get that then just hold in the button again to save it. NOTE: U will have to turn on the shift light every time u turn ur bike back on. Just turn on the key and hold in the button for 2 seconds and ur shift light will come on where u preset it at (the bike can be off or running to do this, the key just has to be on). I hope this helps u, now do relize that this works for my 03 1000 and my old 05 600 so it may be different for ur 07 1000. Let me know how it works out for u. Oh yeah and sry for breaking it down so much I just didnt want to leave anything out.
