I will soon be running my 01 1000 again, this time I will have it lowered and an air shifter.  Last time I ran it at stock height, only a strap on the front end, +2 rear sprock., pipe&PCII and it ran a 10.41@141mph with only a 1.91 60' and a HORRIBLE 330', it just wheelied way too bad in 1st, never even got close to WOT in 1st.  Foot shifting and weighing 190lbs suited.   I am hoping that lowering the front/rear and having the air shifter on it, I should break into the 9s.  I would love to go some 9.70s on it but I don't think it will happen....I'm too heavy and the bike is too short.

Thats pretty good for it not bein lowered :thumb:. I forgot to mention mine was lowered and I weigh about 145 suited. My next in line goodies are swing arm extenders, launch master and air shifter. I def need that shifter cause I try to keep my feet down as long as possible but 1st only lasts so long and when i pick my feet up it tries to wheelie. Maybe I'll try just the shift foot and see if that helps. Alright c'mon guys lets see those times..........

You must be about 150lbs suited?

A buddy of mine had a stock wheelbase 01 back in 03.....Lowered(SLAMMED)/strapped, geared, air shift and Nutec spec 4. He was going 9.30s@148-149mph....that was even with the stock can on it and a BT010 tire....but he was a riding mo fo and only weighed 145lbs suited.  He would go 1.53s on it with the stock arm all the way back.   He ran the shit out of that bike for several years and it never missed a beat.  Eventually he went to an 03 1000 with a Freedom Motorsports motor and ran it in the 60" class at the time, he was going 8.90s on that one on motor.

They are running little buggers once setup IF you can ride em... I'm scared to death of mine in 1st gear.....LOL Its ALL pissed off in 1st...

I vary from 160 to 170lbs.  For some reason mine has always been a runner.  It goes 9.30s at 149-151 at several tracks ..... as long as it's cool outside, like in Apr or Oct.

330s are what makes it happen.  4.05 to 4.09 is what it needs

Well I'm still looking for the 9 second mark! My best so far is 10.182 at 140.99mph with a 1.84 60' over the weekend at Byron dragway, 80 degree temps outside. My 60's need some work, but in my defense my clutch has been real goofy. I have a 2004 with a 4" stretch lowered and strapped front end, I have a air shifter(thats finally working now!) and the bike's dynoed with 165hp at the rear wheel with a +3 rear sproket. I only have 10 passes under my belt, the bike weighs 430lbs with half tank and I'm at 205lbs suited.
Quick question, what gear are you guys crossing the traps in? I'm thinking of dropping a tooth in the front, right now I'm crossing in 4th right at redline....I know once I get the 60' down I will be running 9's easy. Once I achieve that consistantly, going for the bottle! I'm thinking a 75 shot...my goal is a 8 second bike.

If u didnt mention ur clutch, weight, and track experience I would ask what ur doin wrong but with all that I would just say watch that clutch and practice. What kinda bike do u have? My 03 gsxr 1000 is stock wheel base and I got in the 9.80's, I have about 50-60 passes under my belt and im real light. When I finally strech mine then I should be in there like under wear .

 Same here. I can't get away from the track now. I think I may need a new clutch also, I've adjusted mine pretty far and it just keeps slippen now.

o.k. that's exactly where I'm at...but I only have the rear sproket +3. Was wondering what kind of a difference going -1 in the front would do? But your finishing at the same gear as me....4th gear right at redline. What rpm do you launch at?

about 6 1/2 - 7k, -1 in front I think its the same as +3 in the rear. What year is ur bike? Maybe, not sure but maybe ur transmission is geared a little different than mine if it's not an 03-04.

Hmmm dunno y its almost the same rpm then :|. Just try the -1 and see how u like it.... u shouldn't have to shift at the end, besides the front sprocket is pretty cheap anyways.

Hell yeah at that weight you can make the average bike run faster than average....don't get me wrong I like my size, I'm not fat by any means but for drag racing you definitly have the edge with your weight. These bikes must seem like rockets when you ride them!!!

Ran my new 01 (new for me anyhow) last week, first real ride , std engine 63" strapped but still std fairings not scraping, 9.83 at 137mph ,166   60'

Hey OZ...  whats the deal with the ZX10 plate?   My clutch is stock in my 1000 and its a grabby mo fo.....even pulling away from a stop light it grabs.  I can force it to slip and it slips smooth but when it grabs, it freakin grabs.   Wondering if there is a clutch mod or something I need.  I know Brock has the cushion thing for it but....when I put that in the busa a decade ago, it didn't make any difference for me.

I am about to put some dog bones on this bitch and start playing with it.  I never really wanted to because I wanted to keep it for my reliable rider but.....a few trips to the track shouldn't hurt it too much....

Shameless pic whore....

This was a STELLAR run .

1.99 60'
4.82 330'
7.03@112 1/8
10.44@140

I was about 190lbs suited then. I am trying to cut weight now. Gonna lower and strap it and shoot for 9s.
