My 05 HyboOsa build
« on: July 15, 2009, 10:19:23 AM »
Ok Guys N Gals,

This is a build tread for my 05 HyboOsa Streetfighter project that I purchased in January of this year, I bought it off of a member here called 929 adam. I traded my 01 CBR929RR streetfighter for it. Here are a couple of pics. It was also in Streetfighter Magazine.

This comes straight from another forum I am on, so some of it may not make any sense, but here is how it sat when I bought it:

I am thinking about putting a Kwak 636 tail and subby on it with underseat exhaust. Here are some pics of the seat plastic:

not too sure about the seat unit yet, may go with at gixxer thou, but not sure, we will see what happens after mock up.

here is a crappy photochop of some possible plans.

Hey guys, have not done alot since I got the bike from adam, been busy unpacking my stuff from moving a couple of weeks ago.

I zip tied a light to the bOosa so I could ride her:

Then, I moved the tach to a good visible location:

As you see, not much has changed:

As soon as my friend gets his 220v plug in his new shop, I will be fabbing up the 636 subby, so stay tuned, it should be done in a week or so. Also, i am still looking for a Z1000 headlight, so if anyone has one or comes across one, please PM me.

Ok, finally got some time to D some W!! not a whole lot, drilled the bolts out of the top clamp and removed the ignition. then I cut the loop off the top of the ignition, made a bracket, and mounted the acewell there.

Fabbed up a couple of little brackets to hold the temporary light.

Then i moved the ignition down beside the sprocket cover. Dont worry the coolant bottle will be the next thing I do.

Finally got the rear end together, and it will be fabbed to the bike soon.

Next I am bidding on a triumph 955 single sided swinger and wheel to put on it.

Got my new headlight. I wanted the z1000 lamp, but I could not find one. Here are some pics of the new light. Puts out 60 watts of light.

Then I got a chance to D some W, so I got to choppin the subby up. It is only mocked up right now, but it was almost like it was made for this bike!!

Just scored a used Boz Broz 4-2-1 slash cut full exhaust system from Roaring Toyz for $300

a little cleaning up, and it should be a nice pipe, but now I have to get me a power commander, crap, there goes more money!!

Just scored a couple of things off ebay, $100 for both, I think that was a deal.

First off we have a Front Brake Master Cylinder for a 04 05 CBR 1000

Then we have a matching Clutch Master Cylinder from a 04 05 CBR 1000:

These should clean up the bars a bit and help me get rid of those ugly block boOsa Master cylinders. Next up is some Stainless brake lines.

And a set of these for $25

I like the shorty Pazzo's it has on it right now, but I cannot afford to put pazzo's back on the CBR cylinders right now.

Got a chance to D some W!!! Had time to do some polishing on the unpolished stainless steel header.

Before:

After:

Just scored some mini resi's off of ebay, 2 for $40.

These are the actual paint colors I am going with:

Also forgot, I just got some mini resi's for the clutch and brake.

I have not been able to do much on the bike lately as it has been over at a friends house waiting for him to find free time to get to making the sub frame. But I have finished the radiator hard lines, put on the CBR 1000 Clutch and Brake Mastercylinders and installed the HEL SS clutch and brake lines. So, here are the pics.

Alright people, I know it has been a while since the last post, but my friend Randy has been backed up on work, so I have been waiting and now is my turn. And I have decided that when Randy is finished, I will pull the whole bike part and smooth the frame, swinger, subby, and rims and powdercoat them satin black.

In the mean time, I have these on the way:

Here are a couple of subby pics from today.

This is some of the new parts connecting the new subby to the old subby.

This is a pic with the seat cowl level with the tank.

Ok, got the lower supports made and welded on today.

Side shot with supports -- No more holding it up with screwdrivers or allen wrenches!!

Left Side closer up:

Right side closer up:

Rear shot -- I know it looks off center, but it is an optical illusion:

Left side Subby:

Right side Subby -- Test fitting the ECU:

Rear Subby:

And the undeside of the subby:

Had a chance to get some 4th of July DW (do work), dont worry, I will be re routing the ss brake lines.

Got some time to do a little more W. Did a little cut n shut on the wiring harness, re arranged some of the routes some or the control wires took, made a battery box and located it under the tank along with the starter solenoid, lengthened some wires, shortened some others. Here are a couple of pics:

On Hayabusa.org, a guy said that he was concerned about me carrying a passenger. I told him it is a one person bike, but Randy, the guy who built the subby wanted to show him he had nothing to worry about!!

Ok, time for some more DW update pics.

First we have the completed Battery box, shortened wiring harness, and the relocated fuse box:

Then we have the new rearsets mounted:

And then I relocated the ignition switch.

First, the through the frame Shock bolt access hole:

Then after a little modification:

Now we have a new Coolant reservior:

and the profile:

The first pic looks a little odd, the pic was taken at a wierd angle.

Maybe a single sided swingarm, Maybe NOS. I would like a turbo, but no money for that in the near future. My last fighter was in SF, issue 170. mine is the orange blade with the SSSA and the car rim on the back.

Well, I got the bike home yesterday, so I decided to DW!! I swapped out engine bolts for anodized ones, removed the factory header, removed the pair system, installed Pair block off plates, and installed the header and boy is it pretty!! All I have to do is make a hanger bracket.

Ok guys n gals, got some time to DW. First off I installed the 03 GSXR750 front end into the boOsa's clamps:

Then I got the new Michelin Power Pilot tire installed for a whopping $10.

Then I cleaned all of the grease and shit off of the sprocket, cush drive, and rim, then installed my red anodized sprocket nuts:

Double click on the persons name/avatar and it will bring you to their summary.  At the bottom on the summary it says send a private message to this member.  That's what you go with to send a PM.  Well, that's what I do to send PM's anyway.  Good luck bro.

Well, as money has run out and time is short for me to have it rideable by the first of october, I cannot get the frame, swinger, and wheels powdercoated, so I have resorted to the old stand by.

and a little teaser

I am waiting to see how the red paint goes with the polish as to whether I powdercoat the frame and stuff.

OK, I was gonna make you guys and gals wait, but here is her Paint!!

First off is my tank and the paint frame I built.

A close up of the tank

The strip looks crooked because of the bends in the tank, but dont worry it is straight

The Headlight:

The front fender:

Seat Cowl and tail

Right air scoop

Left air scoop

Nice and easy paint job for the beginner

I think it turned out really good for the first non-rattlecan paint job I have ever done.

Here are some pics of the stuff on the bike. Sorry for the grainy cell phone pics. As soon as I can, I will roll it out for some sunlight pics.
