Hi Everyone,

Hope everyone is having a wonderful and productive summer!  

As you all know, the anniversary date of DaveO's terrible tragedy is nearing.  My thoughts way back a year ago was to take that day and make something fun and happy out of it, encorporating a bike event, because this was what I thought Dave would want us to do with that day!

For those of you who know the Owen Family, and I know there are thousands out there because of the multitude of shirts that I sent all over the world, I am planning a Bike Run, to help defer some of the cost of having and under age child still in the home, "Our Dear Jakie", DaveO's youngest!  

I am looking at the date to be right on the Anniversary, Sept 27, 2009.  This will be a Bike Run/Meat on a stick held in Taunton MA.

A little soggy but fun! Josh led the run & the cop we all blew the stop sign in front of didn't bother us!  Wink Todd took Lauren on my busa & I rode his gixxer which went well despite the rain.  Very Happy

New T-shirts are real nice. I'll have to grab & post a close up.

Raffles were fun with a few big ticket items & many happy winners, us included!  thumb
The best part was winning the "Whale watch for two" tickets (Why I put in for that I'm not sure, well I guess I know now, I think somebody was steering me that way Wink ) I just thought what the heck, if it was date sensitive I'd just give it or trade it away. Well sure enough we won & after laughing about it with Susie she said how much her mom (Dave's mom) really wanted to win it! So there ya go! Todd made sure she'd have a willing compainion, which she has a few, so we gave them to her! You would think we gave her a new pony! She said she'd been waiting 52 years to go! Imagine that! It was just awesome and the best part of the day! She's so sweet and to see her so giddy at getting the tickets to go whale watching... well.. you know... priceless!  Cool

"Meat on a stick" was a whole new adventure for those of us "not from around there".

Best of all was seeing Dave's Mom smile, Susie relaxing & Lauren feeling the support & love.

Next year they're going to try for a Saturday so we hope we'll see more folks there!

Oh & there are lots of shirts left! I'm sure Lauren will be putting out the word soon. I believe they're $20 which includes shipping. Black this time & real nice!
