Looking for Side Panels 08
« on: August 28, 2009, 02:57:04 PM »
Hoping to find side panels for 08 Busa prefer Blue but color not that important. Lost both side during test and tune session!
These Gen II Busa body panels aren't worth S&* T.

Have heard of a bunch of people losing them when going down the track. The fix you need to do is drill and anchor where they would approximately be for the gen1's. On the gen2's when you have to slide the side fairings up into the upper fairing drill there through the upper and side fairing and install a bolt. real simple.

Wow, that sucks.

Looks like Suzuki needs to get to work on re-designing the fastening system.
Any day on a motorcycle like this that ends just needing parts and labor is a good day.

They are fine if you use all the fasteners.  People start taking parts off when they ditch the oil cooler or run a turbo and then they don't hold.  Don't expect them to hold with half of the push pins installed...  ...it wasn't designed for that...

Either keep ALL the OEM fasteners or add your own bracing in the lower section when you start cutting the fairings.  I know several who have been well over 200mph and had ZERO problems with them coming loose....  :thumb:

I've had no problems with the 08 plastics coming off and I've had my 08 since Jan of 08 but I'm sorry to hear you are having this issue.  I have a left side blue piece that has some very minor scratches on it.  I took the kanji symbol off the plastic just so you know but let me know if you are interested and I can take a pic.  I can probably come up with some other pieces, so I will let u know if I find some other pieces.  Thanks

I can't believe mine haven't blown off,193mph on GPS,lol.I been over 150 more times than I like to talk about in the last 11,000 miles and have no issues, never even lost a fastener.I see the way some dragracers hack thier fairings up,I goto the track myself, the new fastening system on the Gen2 is much less forgiving than the Gen1 for sure if your not using all the fasteners. If it was a design problem Suzuki would have been sued by now most def.
