Are you absolutely sure you got the sprocket on correctly?
And have you checked the alignment with the rear to make sure that the chain isn't binding causing all of this?
How about length?
Tension right?

I've read that aftermarket front spockets make noise because they lack the rubber bushing that the OEM sprocket has.  Having the chain too tight worsens the noise also.

tnx guys for the support, guys at work told me the same thing, aftermarket makes more noise than stok cuz it aint got that rubber on sides that reduces vibration ,will check the tension & the chain run 4 sure, thnx brothers

I recently replaced my stocker with an aftermarket sprocket and did not notice any difference in noise, but I stayed at 17.

I think that it makes more noise because the chain has to roll more to go around the smaller sprocket we did the same thing to my friends cbr and it made a ton of noise...same with my old katana
