I think the mistake alot of first timers might makek is not realizing that this is a 1 mile drag race. If you gear really tall you might not be able to accelerate fast enough to be topped out by the mile. on the other hand if your too short you might find yourself like I did bumping the rev limiter at the mile. I'll regear for March for sure good luck!@ let me know if you need any "girly"help!

Um.....what the heck is "girly help"? lol!

Remember that the power commander itself won't necessarily make you go any faster.  I've seen bikes lose HP and MPH with the generic downloadable maps from Dynojet.  In other words they were better off not even having the power commander installed in their bike.  Get it tuned properly before you go.

I totally agree. The bike will be dynoed with and without the nitrous, muffler baffle and Power Commander.

Just went 157 mph on GPS on an 03-05 model with -1 up front, +1 in the back, mirrors, normal bolt-ons, stock motor...that was on the rev limiter with a slightly worn 180/55 rear tire.

8/10ths roll, slight decline, a little bumpy, decent conditions, no headwind or tailwind, I'm about 120 lbs.

-1 up front with a fresh 180/55 tire, you should be damn near the rev limiter through the traps at an actual 160  8)

Bike is now down 2 on the back sprocket and has a 24hp shot. I'm using a Dynojet control hub to facilitate two maps (all motor/nitrous). The fuel enrichment is 9 percent at full throttle on the "B" map. I'm taking my laptop in case it needs a bit of tweaking. Got the GF a Teknic one-piece. Race happens in a couple of weeks. Woohoo!

Just noticed that I never updated this thread. Sorry! My GF went 159.403 with a headwind. She wasn't able to use the nitrous because they shut down the track early. No big deal though, we only drove a thousand miles to get there. All in all, it was a great time and she enjoyed herself big time. She wants to race again soon. We plan to take both of our bikes back next winter. My 'Busa should have over 400 hp by then. She's gonna try to go a little faster and so am I.

Had there not been a headwind, we'd have 160. Another timing unit at the track said she went 159.8! Good luck!
